Yvon Michel react to the Duva step back

Post by Cloutov »

From Rds. The leader of GYM reacted today, after Duva cancelled her participation to the WBC purse bid.
He said the portrait is all fucked up now. The plan was to get Adonis in the ring with Kovalev has soon has possible. So he can have Beterbiev vs Mohammedi fighting for the vacant IBF strap. He also said Alvarez will be fighting Chilemba for the no1 contender WBC.
He said that HBO doesn t back Kovalev has much as Duva would like and this is why she got scared of losing the right on that fight.

I don't know who advised Kovalev to sign this contract.

Sergey needs to find a better promoter. Anything that doesn't result in Adonis vs Sergey = Kathy should be fired & Sergey's manager too. They are clearly not looking out for his best options in how they played their hands.

Wait, GYM wanted Sergey to give up the IBF? Thought the idea was to unify all the titles in the fight?

Thats a non issue. Kathy promotes the champion & the #1 contender. She can help out her #1 contender & get him fighting for a vacant title to be fed to Sergey should he win (which puts in place a unification where shes 100% in charge) or lose vs Adonis or she can get him a step aside fee. Anything concerning that belt is neither here nor there cuz Kathy controls all those chess pieces.

Seriously, the whole thing about the IBF mandatory is ridiculous. Why even bother with that dumb fight. The real championship is against stevenson and everyone knows that. I am sure kovalev would have gladly given up that belt if it meant a big money fight against srevenson rather tahn the $500k or so that he will get fighting the mandatory. Duva screwed him big time, I hope he gets rid of her as soon as his contract expires.
