It's funny, the Mawyeather groupies used to hate Ariza, now he's on Floyd's team he's grown a halo meanwhile Freddie Roach is "an overated trainer"

Some of the shite i read on here is embarrassing, although, I guess this kind of thing pales in comparison to Badhusker, Koolkc & KBB(Brut) claiming that Canelo was the one who insisted on a catchweight.

Freddie Roach is a phenominal trainer, his knowledge of the game is outstanding, he has a lot of training videos on youtube that anyone interested in boxing should watch, at least for the knowledge. If he's not the greatest trainer of all time at the very least he's on a par with Dundee, D'Amato & Steward.

Freddie Roach is obviously an excellent trainer/coach - people with grievances come out with all sorts of white. I uses to think it was just insecure people who spent their time slagging people off but it's not - people who have a very high view of themselves also enjoy mud slinging.

Mayweather fans are becoming more and more nervous with the fight getting close, which in some cases results in stupid threads like this one.

Even if I were to believe half of the crap that comes out of Roach's mouth, I still wouldn't be nervous. 2 out of Manny's last 3 opponents were a joke for someone supposedly on his level, but glad he is on a winning streak at least. Roach has said Manny is still in his prime, faster than ever, stronger than ever, the killer instinct is back, he is a better boxer than Floyd, etc, etc, etc. He should know better than to think he will get inside Floyd's head. I think Manny, his team, and his fans are the ones that should be nervous. Personally, I am looking forward to the fight, and even more so some of the reactions after. :OhYes:

Ariza is a double agent. he's secretly sabotaging Floyd's training camp and is going to slip something in his gatorade on the day of the fight.

I am not saying Roach is a bad trainer.

You just have to question how much he adds, if he adds at all.

He mostly gets guys that have already won multiple belts.

because people with multiple belts don't know anything about boxing and sign up with trainers
who aren't good despite the advice of anonymous guys on the boxrec message board. freddie
has trained amateurs and rookie pros almost every day his whole career and if you can't see the
difference in his top fighters before and after he trained them you are blind. the same way he
doesn't deserve or receive all the credit when his fighters win, he certainly doesn't deserve
all the blame when his fighters lose, but his record is one of the best out there.
as far as roach's boxing career, how about ariza's?

I can see the difference.

And so can some of the fighters he trains.

I guess that is why they fire him.

It seems like the Freddie Roach argument just ends with Manny. Somehow that has put him above criticism. I personally believe there are at least 10 trainers in the game who have been better than Roach over the past 5-7 years.

It's sad that he'll be placed among Emmanuel Steward type legendary trainers. Further proof that he media creates greatness all the time.
Chavez jnr really was shining today eh, maybe he should have stayed with roach, maybe he wouldn't have embarrassed Snr if he trained harder, wasn't that what roach said about his training

I think everyone except the idiots throwing shit in the ring knew this was going to happen to Chavez Jr as soon as he fought someone his own size. If Martinez was the same size as Julio, he would have done the same thing earlier in more spectacular fashion.

World champions are failures? Who are these better trainers from the last 5 to.....ah nevermind, you're a effing dumbass.
I guess I see things different than you do. Outside of Manny Pacquiao, could you list Roach's 5 biggest accomplishments as a trainer? Maybe I'm overlooking his greatness.

I think the only issue with roach is that he spreads himself too thin, he trains too many fighters and is in the corner for a ridiculous amount of fighters, it would be hard to be in that much demand though

Btw, if Manny was taking PEDs, wouldn't Aziza know first hand? So why wouldn't he say something about that? If Manny was on something then i'm sure this punk would have said something in the public eye. This guy is a dick.

Dick or not, if Ariza admits Manny was taking PEDs (assuming that was true) he would implicate himself by admitting it.

Not very likely he'd do that.

So posting what someone has stated which is obvious to anyone who isn't a nervous Pacquiao fan makes me nervous? LOL, you are about as stupid as you sound here.

You honestly believe that Roach has trained a guy like James Toney (who has more KO's than Freddie has bouts)??

You guys act like a bunch of sensitive little whores, getting all teary-eyed over what someone says about Freddie Roach's dumb ass, lol.

Again, WHO HAS ROACH TRAINED FROM GROUND UP TO GREATNESS??

The other Trainers do laugh at him and think he is highly overrated, Manny was already a great fighter when Roach got him, Toney was already an ATG when Roach had him, Oscar was already a champ, I could go on and on but I guess the point is already made.

Roach is highly overrated!!

That's a good point and it also means we should be careful of accepting anything he says at face value.

Why do these already great fighters go to Roach, they all have multiple years of experience and could pick and choose from the very best in the world - why would they not choose the best available trainer given the financial penalties involved with losing/being I'll prepared/having a lousy game plan?
