Fonfara was putting it on Adonis in the later rounds and you thought he would get beaten up
by a guy who made a living bullying middleweights?

I want to see the replay of that corner conversation. You know Joe Goossen doesnt like his men retire, not unless the death is knocking at their doors.

Didn't Junior himself insisted on the stoppage citing a problem with his leg ? I think he just plain quit.

Oh yes, insist is the word. He was asking to stop it over and over.

Absolutely! When your man lands 9 jabs in the entire 9 round fight how are you calling yourself a boxing trainer.

I don't think Chavez listens to trainers, especially in a fight. That is why he had to change so many of them.

And Arum is happy that he didn't sign a multi-million extension with this joker.

Chavez has basically painted his own career into a corner. He was a decent MW because he was strong and durable for the weight class and could apply pressure until his opponent cracked. At LHW he's undersized and underskilled. The problem is that he's blown up to 180+ pounds and it will be hell for him to get back to 160. So in all likelihood the rest of his career will be spent on the margins as a sideshow attraction.

I thought Junior might have been concussed because he started talking nonsense in the post fight interview.
