He only signed him to fight Brook. That was obvious from the word go. I'd have loved to have seen Eddie's face when Rios's manager told him what he got for the Alvarado fights... More than Brook, Selby and Mitchell put together.

Yeah but my guess is Frankie has been overpaid since day 1.

Frankie deserved a big contract to turn over. He'll still be cheaper than most, will sell tickets, Ppv's and it was simple to make. Eddie will be tapping up Skeete next.

Frankie probably missed his chance to earn pretty big from the off as a pro by not turning over after the worlds. His style would have been a factor too.

I think brook is getting harsh criticism, he was stabbed less than a year ago and the docs thought he wouldn't fight again.

What did people expect? Him to regain fitness and sharpness to fight top fighters from the off?

It will be no different to a footballer who is severely injured and they take time out, heal then play training games,then play reserve games then play as a sub before playing a full game and performing well.

Kell is hoping that Gavin will be another test for his leg plus another defence before stepping in with someone who hasn't had a career threatening injury and is fully fit.
