Thank Jaysus for this forum...

Post by Srebmun »

Specifically saying this for the upcoming Mayweather v Pacman fight - but overall also.

Threads in here are sensible and don't end up with the nonsense you see in general. I usually search on Active Topics, some of the titles look interesting so I start reading them, with a real interest, then within a cpl of posts it's the same old sh1te from the same idiots and I can't carry on. Such a shame.

Personally, I know the history of these 2, but as a boxing fan I sure am looking forward to the fight - I have a feeling of proper excitement for it. I hate all this pactard, nuthugger boll0x you see in there.

So good on yas all for decent sensible conversations etc..

It is a very good forum, always has been. Checkhook’s OK, but one or two people on there make it unbearable to read at times. There’s a few too many quidnuncs. BoxRec tends to attract people who are into the fighting side of the sport as well as the politicking.

Plus Carly Simon is given the respect she deserves on here.
Pet Pomeranian - is that the euphemism you're using - or is it in fact a tuba?

Man walks into a bar - says "Can I have an entendre please."
'Would sir like a LARGE one" - replies the bar man.

That joke doesn't work if you understand French.

The joke isn't in French though - it's based on the fact that 'double entendre' is another word for a figure of speech with a double meaning.
Anyway, it was just meant to be a bit of fun - jeez :TU:

If Pacquiao had just taken that drugs test and Arum hadn't lied to us about the contract, boxing forums wouldn't be in the state they are in today......

Pac-Floyd discussion seems to attract the lowest levels of intellect and the highest levels of abrasiveness, which I suspect is due to the composition of their hardcore fan-bases. I try to avoid those topics because it's largely a litany of nonsense and name-calling, at least in the CS where most of those discussions occur.

Every now and again its worth poping over to the current scene to see how the other half lives:

random thread taken now from the top of current scene topics:

http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=190921

The British forum on Boxrec is the only forum i use, the quality of discussions on here have always been consistently high. Every other boxing forum i have visited over the years is full of the same nonsense as the current scene on here.
