Are We Really Going To Bail Chavez Out?

Post by ctcatz »

By saying the weight was the issue he lost this fight?

Chavez was in horrible shape for this fight. He had no wind after the 3rd round. His punches had no pop on them.

He doesnt take boxing serious!

Only if he believes that he was having those issues. The spoiled kid thinks that he was winning every round before the stoppage.

BS weight was NOT the issue, it was those right and left hands of Fonfara that destroyed that boy, not the weight!! Chavez was even so delusional after the fight that he thought he was winning it, that shows how hard he was getting hit.

Let's not forget that Chavez has came in on fight night for fights at 168 weighing as much as 190, so if he is going to use the excuse that the weight was too much for him then he is full of sh*t!!

He got his ass whupped and I'm very happy that Fonfara dusted this overrated clown.

He should never have gone above 160. His "walk through everything and apply pressure until the guy cracks" routine is simply not going to work against LHWs.

I always thought he would be a good boxer down the line too. But when i saw that he was out weighing his opponents by 20 pounds or more, it became evident that he was just relying on the weight to his advantage.

He needs to start training properly. I seen a report somewhere that said he only trains for like a month and drains so much weight the night before. He needs to hire a nutritionist too.

Fonfara made Chavez look stupid. Maybe he wakes up and takes the game serious.

Chavez Jr's defense has always been atrocious and vs a sharp straight puncher like Fonfara he's always going to be eating tons of shots regardless of his conditioning.

Chavez JR became an OK fighter over time (he was a complete joke early on) with a decent offensive repertoire, but he's never been an elite fighter. Sure, he had a round vs a crippled Sergio, and he out-bludgeoned Lee (whose defense is also porous) but vs any true world class skilled boxer he's going to be in a world of trouble. At 175 his biggest attribute (which was his usual huge size advantage) evaporates and he's nothing more than a tough gatekeeper level fighter.

First off, I thought and still think that JCCJR could be a GREAT Boxer because he's got one of the best chins i've ever seen since Randall Tex Cobb, he has serious power upstairs and down and he has fought with a very entertaining style that i've really enjoyed watching so far.

But, he's all done after Saturday night. The biggest reason why is obvious, you can't be a darling of Mexico Fans when you quit on your stool on national TV in a fight that reports show he will tally over $4m from the fight (Fonfara only $500k).

Another reason, the childish complaining to Ref every single second of that fight. He's been given everything in his life so he feels that his opponent should let him put his head into their chest and stay still while he punches, lol. What a punk. This after he lead with his head all night, his shoulder and elbows and hit below the belt too many times to count. The ref clearly, hispanic, got brainwashed at all the complaining and took a point away form the Pole for just returning a shoulder he received a second earlier.

JCCJR is not going to outwork anyone in the gym and he doesn't even listen to his Trainer in the corner. We've seen his 24/7 workouts leading to fights and how he just tosses trainers and personnel out of the gym moving on to the next. Then there's his father who I can't stand looking at him with that dumb tux on at ringside trying to manage from the corner. Go away JCCSR and let the kid do what he does. I think that the kid is all done but if he is to come back and earn Mexico's support, he's got to change, 180 degrees and part from his Dads advice and get a trainer that he must listen to.

The fight averaged 618,000 viewers on Showtime. Junior is pathetic in all aspects.

Chavez Jr’s official purse for his loss against Fonfara was $2.5m, which is more than the combined total that Gennady Golovkin earned for his fights against Rubio, Geale, Stevens & Macklin.

To make matters worse, according to the photos circulating the web, Julio also is rumoured to have received a cheque for an additional $1.75m from the profits of the event itself.

If you believe being paid $4.25m for a nights’ work is pathetic, then your standards are far too high!
Whoever paid him this kind of money is an idiot. Junior has no big future. He will lose to his next decent opponent, so he will have to stick to fighting journeymen or glass chins.
