tim-robin lihaug or one of the other guys like that ranked in the top 15
of the various ABC's at 168, but he will probably take a pay cut for fighting
guys like that and he would need to actually get in good shape and work
on his defense so when he steps up to the top guys at 168 he can protect
himself. if he could get one convincing win against a ranked guy, any ranked
guy, he could get a shot at abraham or dirrel before he is exposed one last
time and his career is over for good.

Chavez Jr. needs to have a couple of confidence building type fights and then when he’s raised his fitness levels and then try to engage in another world title fight against the likes of:
• Andy Lee for his WBO 160lb crown
• The winner of the N’Dam Lemieux bout for the vacant IBF 160lb belt
• Arthur Abraham for his WBO 168lb title
• Rematch Fonfara at 160lbs (he used to be a welterweight!)

Julio isn’t a 175lb-er, so there’s no point in him venturing into that weight class again.

Regardless of whatever anyone says, the Mexican’s career isn’t finished and he’ll probably capture an alphabet world title again before he hangs up his gloves.

There’s no point in deluding ourselves, Chavez Jr. isn’t an elite-level fighter, but he’s good enough and popular enough to continue commanding fairly sizeable paydays against second-tier opposition.

I honestly believe we cannot say that after just one fight!! Sure he got beat up but he was big enough to push Fonfara backwards, landed some decent shots but just didn't have enough power to get the type of respect he needed against what is obviously a Top 5 LHW in Fonfara.

I think he should look to fight a shorter LHW like Pascal and then we can say whether or not he is a LHW. One fight with a Top LHW doesn't tell the full story IMHO.

I agree that Chavez can't make 60 again and dude walks around over 190 so 175 shouldn't be a stretch for him to make the weight and to the last part of your statement, I surely hopes Pascal does make that Bum Julio look dumber.

Chavez was a over achiever to begin with, he had a lot of perks due to being the son of a boxing legend. He's not going to have those same perks fighting guys who are naturally his size or bigger. Chavez doesn't take boxing seriously enough to compete with those types of fighters. Chavez has embarrassed himself and his family enough, time to hang them up.
