Fielding vs Vera

Post by broomy7s »

Can't argue with that matchmaking. Good timing for Fielding as Vera is past his best but will still be a good name on his record. Callum Smith supposed to have a good opponent named too next week. Looking like a late June show in Liverpool.

It's a crap fight. The guy ain't won for 3 years and recently got ko'd by rosado, plus he's a middleweight. Hearn fails to deliver yet again, and yet again he refuses too match his own fighters. All boxing fans wanted to see was fielding vs c Smith. Anyone remember Hearn saying he likes making the fights asap rather than waiting?? Expect Smith's opponent to be equally as bad.

Vera ? - surely you don't mean the old Geordie bird off the telly on a Sunday night ?

I know that matchmaking can often slightly favour the home boxer, but that would be ridiculous :bag:

Vera's rarely in a dull fight but Willie Monroe Jr dominated him last time out and he seems to have lost that zip he used to bring to the ring every time he fought,Monroe is a class boxer mind so a fighter like Bryan plays into his hands but I just think Vera's reached the end of the road plus he's only really a MW and Fielding's a big SMW

I think there's a big chance Rocky stops him

Why can't it be Fielding vs Smith (Callum) next.

In his last two fights he was knocked out by Gabe Rosado and dominated by Willie Monroe, being clearly hurt even though Monroe is a MW with 6 knockouts in 20 fights.

While Vera is recognizable I think he's lost the qualities that would've made this a good fight a few years ago.

Midst matchroom is only bringing him over if there match maker thinks he is past it. They will sell it as the man that beat andy lee. Ten years ago

I agree. For Vera 3 fights ago it would have been interesting though I give him an outside chance its unlikely he'd pose Fielding many problems and more than likely over for the payday.

Reminds me of when they brought Cosme Rivera over to fight Lee Purdy a few years back. Another former decent fighter being matched against the bigger younger prospect.

Rocky needs building up and padding out but the problem is he's on borrowed time at 12st I believe & I don't think he's effective in the slightest beyond domestic at l.heavy imo

Vera is a washed up middleweight. He looked absolutely shot against Monroe.

Fielding isn't anything special. If Vera comes with any kind of ambition at all it could be interesting for a few rounds. Look what Jones done to Rose recently.

Don't be silly!!

Matchroom fighters don't fight Matchroom fighters until Hearn thinks he can con an additional £19.95 pay per view out of enough people.

It'll look a good name on Fieldings record but lets face it hes fighting a passed it middleweight.

This fits in nicely with matchrooms pattern of one sided sh*te bouts on standard saturday night shows before treating us the lucky fans to a reasonably competetive fight between two matchroom fighters on a "huge night for british boxing" all for just 17-20 quid on top off your already too expensive sky subscription.
