Mentioning or implying Cotto and Sylvester are similar situations is embarrassing
That you don't seem to value those two performances by Geale is embarrassing.

Yeah there was a real backlash in Germany about previous robberies last 20yrs against American and English fighters that the judges seemed to be uneasy about giving Sturm the decision against Geale.... That fight was close and i also had Sturm nicking it but the judges thought they better finally throw the Western world a bone. Sylvester was and is a B level fighter so that win doesn't count. Imagine what a prime Mundine wouldvé done to Sylvester?

Re: Cotto vs geale
Geale's wins in Germany over Sylvester & Sturm were great achievements and netted him the IBF & WBA titles respectively.
Those wins also proved he has the capacity to travel and win title fights in other fighter's "own backyards."
He fell short against GGG, but so has everybody else.

Agreed, Sylvester went on to get KO'd by Proska in his next fight.Kelandbeave wrote:Yeah there was a real backlash in Germany about previous robberies last 20yrs against American and English fighters that the judges seemed to be uneasy about giving Sturm the decision against Geale.... Re: Cotto vs geale
What a load of crap. To go to Germany and get the decision against any of their world champs is an outstanding effort. Daniel did it twice. Sturm is a quality fighter and Daniel did enough to win that fight. Sylvester was a decent enough fighter to hold one of the better versions of the world title and Daniel beat him. Some people just find it difficult to commend people on excellent efforts. Are the same people going to call Cotto a shot fighter should Daniel beat him - probably.

Proksa was 25-0 at the time and went on to fight GGG a year later.MidniteProwler wrote:Agreed, Sylvester went on to get KO'd by Proska in his next fight.Kelandbeave wrote:Yeah there was a real backlash in Germany about previous robberies last 20yrs against American and English fighters that the judges seemed to be uneasy about giving Sturm the decision against Geale.... Most think Geale just got Sturm at the right time. Sturm was done.amwsnw wrote:What a load of crap. To go to Germany and get the decision against any of their world champs is an outstanding effort. Sturm then lost to Soliman which should spell it out to you that he was done. He lost to SOLIMAN.
Re: Cotto vs geale
when someone focus' purely on only the 'negative' of a fighter non-stop, they r simply haters.
problem is they r the only ones who refuse to acknowledge it.

Sturm was never any good anyway, his claim to fame was losing to a fat out of shape blown up Welterweight Delahoya.Francis75 wrote:So you think Sturm was at the peak of his powers ?buster007 wrote:these people r called haters.

Soliman has 44 wins too. When he fought Sturm the first time Soliman hadn't been beaten in 5 years. When he fought Sturm the second time Soliman hadn't been beaten in 6 years. Just the other half of the story for some balanceKelandbeave wrote:Is that the bloke with a dozen losses to his name? AmazingFrancis75 wrote:

Word "hate/haters" is the most common word used in forums & schoolyards. This joint can live without it. Thanks

"Opinions" would be a more appropriate word.

Daniel Geale sure looks like fairly good value at $4.00.

opinions or hate?
what do u call it when someone states constantly only negative things about a boxer in every thread, but never one positive thing about them, even after beating the odds time and again?
cotto is supposedly cherry picking and the fight is a stay busy fight and cooto is in a different league to daniel, but geale should be able to win cause cotto is only a welter weight and should not be fighting at this weight, lol.

Daniel Geale's comments from a recent interview with Fairsy & Jules on Launceston Radio :
"Very confident going into the fight. We understand it's going to be a tough fight against a guy that's going to be a future Hall of Famer. He's fought the best and I'll need to stick to my game plan".
"I'll have the whole crowd against me. He's been in big fights. Hard fights, and taken a lot of punishment, and he's there for the taking."
"I've put in all the hard training and I'm ready".

Never seen 2 guys follow each other around, back slapping each other, after always creating an angry mob.
Same person perhaps, on different IP address's, or just really, "really" enjoy each others company?
Soliman has 7 loss's less then Sugar Ray.....No, please don't retort with that they're not in the same league, it's obvious the win/loss/draw section of a fighters profile influences your decision on who can and can't fight.
Are we in another forum, is this Boxrec or ESB?
