Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Talking about Martinez there is a rumour that he'll be fighting for the WBA interim Bantamweight title. He was in talks with super champion Payano though the reports suggest Payano will be fighting in Japan with Ryo Matsumoto being his likely for.
I suspect Hearn could throw money at Martinez though it might be that he can get the other fight at home or feels Bantamweight is more suitable or something.

You don't see the Heavyweight Championship of the world as relevant?whiteboy wrote:You are a very boring individual.Manchester Hitman wrote:So Eddie thinks that Haymon allowing sky to show the Degale fight is a major announcement?
Fact is Hearn fcked the negotiations and is very lucky that Warrren probably couldn't be arsed to bid for the rights or make noises that he might be interested which would have made sky/matchroom pay more.
Maybe your master should be arsed to bring us some relevant fights for our 12 pounds a month.
Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
I think the big announcement could be that officially no one gives a fcuk about his interim bullshite titlists to such a degree the WBO have said that Tomoki Kameda that he may be stripped of the title if he goes through with a clash against WBA “regular” titlist Jamie McDonnell.
In a statement they released it said:-
"The WBO World Championship Committee will not authorize your proposed bout with Jamie McDonnell as a Unification Contests, as it our position not to recognize the “secondary titlists” of organisms that opt to have more than one champion per division— as is the case with the WBA, which has Juan Carlos Payano as its so-called “Super Champion” in the Bantamweight division and Yonfrez Parejo as its “Interim” titleholder. Simply put, the WBO only recognizes the “highest” titleholder of other sanctioning organisms as legitimate champion for unification purposes (in this case Payano). In addition to this, the WBO World Championship Committee may only sanction contenders to the WBO World Championship title that are rated within the top 15 of the WBO. In this case, McDonnell does not meet the criteria of the WBO Ratings Committee and is not rated.
Finally, please note that should you decide to participate of the aforementioned bout in spite of this warning and without our authorization, this Committee may order you to show cause as to why the WBO Bantamweight Championship of the World should not be declared vacant or, in the alternative, it may declare the title vacant without further hearing you."

Interim/Regular titles are a complete joke. Great scathing statement from the WBO there.
Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
When did the JBC start recognising the WBO?

Early 2013 I think, certainly after they suspended Osawaorbtastic wrote:When did the JBC start recognising the WBO?
They accepted the IBF at the same time but to date the WBO champions from Japan are few and far between with Tomoki no longer licensed by the JBC anyway (Takayama held the WBO title at 105, can't think of any others at the moment).

Wow, even the WBO are turning their nose up at the WBA.
Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Hearn said in an inverview recently that that someone didnt hold a real title so there was no point in a fight forgetting that some of his stable hold the same when he still considers that they are!Boxerbeetle wrote:Interim/Regular titles are a complete joke. Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Its like when Sky ignore Thurmans title (rightfully so) saying Brook is the only belt holder at 147 except Mayweather and Pacquiao but about 2 minutes later they call Jamie McDonnell and Scott Quigg world champions.......erpyenest77 wrote:Hearn said in an inverview recently that that someone didnt hold a real title so there was no point in a fight forgetting that some of his stable hold the same when he still considers that they are!Boxerbeetle wrote:Interim/Regular titles are a complete joke. Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Maybe the announcement should have been that after the fanfare of Degale joining Matchroom/Sky Sports a year ago you can now finally watch him fight without having to stump up a PPV fee on top of your subscription for the privilege.

Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Hearn's announcement should be he messed up Frampton / Quigg. No way Quigg deserved 50-50.

Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
TBF he didn't ask for 50/50 he said 60/40 to the winner which I don't understand what the problem is with that on Frampton's side. even Warren said that offer was fair as well as the 1.5 million guaranteedbrian13 wrote:Hearn's announcement should be he messed up Frampton / Quigg. Re: Eddie Hearn announcement?
Jeez
Badou Cack beat Anthony Dirrell last night by majority decision.
Dirrell, who recently drew with Sakio Bika, was outpointed by a man who recently drew with Marco Antonio Periban, and was then KO'd in a round.
Now he's the WBC super middleweight world champion.

Title is Groves to lose now. Say what you like about George, and you will, but this has turned out very well for Groves.

DeGale needs his head 100% focused on the job in hand. Andre is leagues above Anthony.rd350lc wrote:and possibly Degale ............
