Fury vs Wlad

Post by crusader »

Wlad said post-fight that this is likely next. Thoughts on the fight and is anyone favoring Fury?

Fury has absolutely nothing to worry Wlad. At least Wilder would have a puncher's chance.

Wlad wins this in what ever round he feels like stopping Fury. Fury will talk the absolute nonsense out of the fight but he has no chance in this fight.

As with Wach, Fury's size might make this more fun to watch than some of the previous clinch and lean fights.

Despite being down a few times, I think Fury has a good chin; it's his defence that's the issue, especially agains the right cross. He also doesn't really have the power to make Wlad overly cautious.

Wlad via mid-rounds KO.

I doubt many people won't like it - Fury is always entertaining & will at least give it a good go.

Hopefully Fury puts some pressure on him but he's not much of a puncher still more of a slapper.

Wlad on points.

Fury will bring a mixture of size and technique that Wlad will never have face.
He will pose problems Wlad's not used to and he will not be able to deploy the spoiling tactics that turn so many fight fans off Klitschko.

but ultimately Wlad will be too good and too powerful.
Fury gets hit and when Wlad lands, most tend to stay hit.

I think Fury will make this one of Wlads most exciting fights, possibly even take a couple rounds, but I see him landing on his ass before the halfway point. At which point he'll get bolder and eventually get stopped in the third quarter of the fight.

Fury has absolutely no chance; he's not a big hitter, can barely box at all, has a dodgy chin, is never in shape, and isn't even going to have his customary size advantage. That said, he will at least try to win, and that makes it worth watching. I expect him to force the pace, and for Wlad to have to knock him out, and I expect that he will go out on his shield.

Odds are Klitschko is favorited to win.... however... Fury is the taller, heavier, etc. man and has proven he can switch between orthodox and southpaw, and has good skills for a man nearly 7'0" in height and when hurt fights HARDER... At the very least, Klitschko will have his hands full with Tyson. Tyson will force Klitschko to engage, and it will turn into a brawl for a while. The question is... whose chin is going to hold up and whose chin isnt?

I couldn't make a case for Fury here. He might be able to box with him a bit as they are a similar size but fury would be a sitting duck for they straight lefts and rights all night.

Should be another easy nights work for Wlad, Fury doesnt have much to trouble Klitschko.

Vlad by stoppage mid to late.

To beat klitschko you need to have the power to take him out with one shot and the only one that has a realistic chance of doing that is deontay wilder although i think he gets beaten by vlad too.

There's not a heavyweight alive today that can outbox vladimir klitschko imo.

Fury has the size advantage, and is improving with every fight. His punch out put is good for a big man and I think he can do it. I think it'll be very close and probably points.

Can't be any worse than all the other boring fights in Wlad's reign, last night included.

The buildup will be terrific, as Fury talks absolute bollocks and presumably it's going to be at Wembley ? I imagine most people in the UK only vaguely know who he is ...but the average punter might actually be taken in by fury's big talk - and he has got a big personality, and is obviously slightly mad.

So it'll probably be quite an event: land of the Giants etc...colourful build up before Tyson gets pulverised in about 3 rounds.

Right tactics, right preparation and right attitude....and Fury can make it a fight and potentially give Wlad a decent challenge. A good performance would keep him relevant and in the mix post-Wlad.

Peter Fury will have to get all of these things in place like never before; maybe locking Tyson up in that Belgium camp they've used in the past and just drilling in a gameplan, getting the diet just right and making sure that Tyson comes to the ring with a degree of composure/calm. Leave the showboating and macho stuff at home, appreciate that Wlad's jab is not a joke and can pile up the points quickly, and get off to a good start.

That's clearly a lot of stars that need to be in alignment just to be competitive; but I think Tyson does listen when it matters (and this fight will) and Peter Fury is well-capable of ensuring that Wlad does not have it all his own way.

Ignore the tactics and swagger in there thinking you are a big guy who could bounce and bully Wlad....and it will be a long, painful night at the Klitschko Academy for Tyson.

Apart from Wilder there's only Fury who has any chance of beating Klitschko, clearly to topple Wlad you need to have some sort of power which Tyson has despite some people claiming otherwise, most of Fury's decision wins have came when he's elected to box for a points win, also to beat Wlad you need size,Fury can win fights without constantly grabbing and leaning on opponents like what Wlad does plus he switch stances effectively, so he does have more in his arsenal than Wladimir and most importantly he's confident he can win and if he's losing on points he won't be afraid to take a chance like most, he has heart, can get off the floor to win

Its no coincidence that Jennings and others have success against Wlad when lunging in a burst,Wlads too methodical to be outboxed,we need a firm ref to not let Klitschko away with persistent holding and leaning then Fury has a real chance

No doubt Fury gives it a good go. Won't matter though, unfortunately.

I think there's a reason why Tyson has never faced anyone considered to possess any level of genuine power.

Be very entertaining though. Fury is great value
