Fury vs Wlad

Wlad said post-fight that this is likely next. Thoughts on the fight and is anyone favoring Fury?

I like Fury, I rate him higher than most. I just don't see him handling Wladimir's power though. If he can negate that I think he wins but I don't see him doing that. Wlad K.O.

I have been impressed with Fury recently, he has shown good skills. This is hard for me to admit as I detest the guy. However, these fights have been against much smaller guys. How he deals with someone a bit closer to his size will be very interesting. Most interesting fight for Wlad since Haye.

I can see Klitschko winning by 2 or 3 rounds.

Style wise Fury is an easier fight for Wlad than Jennings. Fury won't see past round 8.

Fury is a European version of Michael Grant. This would be a good payday for Wlad without much risk.

bad style matchup for fury.
he fights with his hands down and wlad is a wrestler who closes the distance
and ties his opponent up and then pulls their head down and pushes them
around. in a true boxing match i would still say wlad beats fury but no ref
is ever going to stop wlad from doing what he does so fury will be tied in knots
and tired out and caught on the inside with everything wlad throws.
i would much rather see fury vs wilder

I don't think you are giving Fury enough credit. He is a top level fighter now, and would certainly sit in my top 5 in the division. Fury isn't slow like many of the big guys Wlad has fought before. I think it will be a good fight. I don't see Fury winning, but I think it will be closer than most.

I pick Wlad, but hope Fury wins. He's a loudmouth idiot sometimes, but entertaining. Him vs Wilder would be great entertainment.

I believe Klitschko wins, as I think his straight will work wonders, but I don't discount Fury's chances. He is a good big man.

After watching Saturday's fight, I think Fury has a good chance of defeating Klitschko.

Fury will have a height advantage, and has much bigger, longer arms. He's been developing some excellent boxing skills, plus he has good fitness and stamina for the later rounds.

And age 39 Wlad looked a bit old and faded in some of the later rounds on Saturday (although he looked good in the 12th). Fury will have the hunger and confidence of youth.

All that being said, I'd still pick Klitschko to win, but it's a 60-40 fight rather than the many fights where Wladimir's opponent has had little chance to win.

I just can't see how Fury could ever outbox wlad, most of his fights have been laughable but entertaining, hes also very chinny, getting floored by feather fisted 20-30% ko rate guys like Steve Cunningham and Neven Pajkic. Hes looked a lot better in the last 2 fights but they were v Chisora the glorified journeyman(who also turned up unmotivated) and Christian Hammer a complete bum. I'd be surprised if Fury lasted more than 5 rounds, he'd have to Win by Ko which I don't think is possible for his boxing ability, and no way he'd ever win on points in Germany.

Fury has size, good skills and a big heart. His chin isn't the best though and that could be his downfall.

I really can't see any other result than Wlad winning by TKO / KO inside of 9 rounds.

Fury's size won't be a factor.

What we need is another Corrie Sanders (RIP). A relatively big guy, not necessarily bigger than Wlad, but with fast hands and balls of steel.

If Wlad fights Fury and beats him (as I think he will) - I think that he;s pretty much cleaned out the Heavyweight division of top contenders (with the exception of Wilder of course)

After watching the Jennings fight and seeing that Wlad turned 39 I think he might be a little bit more vulnerable. Fury is a top ten guy and he has youth on his side I'm not so certain about his skill level though. I'd give Fury a decent chance. But I'd still favor Wlad to win.

Initial thought. This fight will have a nice build up and because Fury isn't very defensive in the ring, and won't pull a David Haye, there will be action!

Fury is decent, but his average chin and lack of fundamentals on defense means his chances are slim. A fighter needs to have good defense and a good chin ( like Jennings ) to bother Wlad.

After Fury and Wilder there is not much else. Although it would take him a while to fight both of them and Teper, Joshua or someone else might have emerged as a decent contender in that time.

Has any heavyweight ever had wins over everyone else in the top 10? I guess that would be something for him to aim for.
