Re: Kal get injured?
The curse of the Matchroom cards strikes again
Re: Kal get injured?
Is this the worst card on sky in the last 5 years? Not sure if the Newcastle show pips it tho
Re: Kal get injured?
His Twitter suggests he is not
Re: Kal get injured?
Is the main event another Joshua 8 rounder?
Re: Kal get injured?
Just checked his twitter, yesterday morning he'd been for a run and was looking forward to the gym in the afternoon.
Where have these injury rumours come from?

For the casuals/tv yeah!rio wrote:Is the main event another Joshua 8 rounder?
For me Yafai/Megrino or Eggingtons commonwealth title fight both have main event status over another AJ KO

The fact the fight is no longer listed on here and that Kel looks like he's completely off the show.ste1983 wrote:Just checked his twitter, yesterday morning he'd been for a run and was looking forward to the gym in the afternoon.

Re: Kal get injured?
I fornicating hope its not off, takes the piss this and the fact if it is that Matchroom are dragging out announcing its off similar to what they did with Gavin/Van Heerdan. Its still listed on the Matchroom site but so was that fight till about a week ago!!Boxing Prospect wrote:The fact the fight is no longer listed on here and that Kel looks like he's completely off the show.ste1983 wrote:Just checked his twitter, yesterday morning he'd been for a run and was looking forward to the gym in the afternoon.

If it was just the Brum stuff they were showing it would be poor, but think they are showing the McDonnell and Burns fights on the same show.rio wrote:Is this the worst card on sky in the last 5 years? Not sure if the Newcastle show pips it tho

No good for us who brought tickets for Frankie Gavin v Chris Van Heerden though
Re: Kal get injured?
I notice on the Matchroom site theyve super imposed Matt Macklins face where Kals was now (AJ already been done over Gavin). But they still list him v Megrino??
I've tried tweeting Matchroom/Hearn and Kal but everyone seems to be keeping very quiet. Which makes me think it is off theyre just not telling us yet for some reason they did the same over the whole Gavin fight basically treating us who have tickets like shit. Think I'll definitely be seeking a refund really wanna go just to see Eggington get his Commonwealth title and if they'd been honest and said the Yafai fight was off I probably would but theyre lieing and avoidance of the truth leaves a bad taste.
Great way to 'bring boxing back to Birmingham' (theyre words) Matchroom!!

Absolutely not mate - the card is dire, but was just pointing out the "worst on Sky" bit was wrong.ste1983 wrote:Yeah they are, magnus wrote:If it was just the Brum stuff they were showing it would be poor, but think they are showing the McDonnell and Burns fights on the same show.rio wrote:Is this the worst card on sky in the last 5 years? Matchroom's cards this year have been very poor - which makes 30th May even more of a kick in the teeth.
Re: Kal get injured?
Yeah true I agree the Sky product May 9th isn't that bad (its just the Matchroom product thats awful) in fact I'm trying to see if I can get a refund so I can watch it on tv!!magnus wrote: Absolutely not mate - the card is dire, but was just pointing out the "worst on Sky" bit was wrong.

Re: Kal get injured?
I am going to this card, and it initially seemed to be a really good card if they were all matched competitively (within reason). Without Gavin and K Yafai, the card is very bare, with only one 12 rounder in an 11 fight card.... very disappointing.
I dont understand why Rose isnt towards the bottom of a fight pass card, it will be a nothing fight that no one wants to see.
Although, I am excited to see Declan Geraghty, Jordan Cooke and Gamal Yafai. I just hope Eddie Hearn doesnt stick them on at 5.30 in an empty arena.
I anticipate, Eggington, Joshua, Smith, and Macklin to be the teleivised fights, as I beleive the Texas card with Burns and McDonnell will be shown within the same TV broadcast, although I could be wrong with that.

Re: Kal get injured?
You are correct in that yes, thats why Eddie/Sky don't seem to give two fucks about this card.....and the fact its not pay per view.sammy95 wrote:as I beleive the Texas card with Burns and McDonnell will be shown within the same TV broadcast, although I could be wrong with that.
Re: Kal get injured?
Also looks like BJS is off warrens card on the same night
Re: Kal get injured?
Warren and fast Eddie should just bite the bullet and combine the cards only way of making either half way respectable for that date.rio wrote:Also looks like BJS is off warrens card on the same night
Re: Kal get injured?
Does anyone know if Kal is off the card, notice boxrec have taken him off which is always iffy, however his twitter says he is off to the gym today
When oh when will we get promoters letting the public know when people are off bills, with Eubank and now Yafai both possibly having there fights called off next saturday or even worse being off the bill altogether.
Bit of honesty fellas might get you all a little bit less bad press from us lot, not that we matter to you guys but we should we are the paying public

I've been trying to find out tweeted Hearn, Matchroom, Yafai even the bloody arena but nothing back (which tells me he is off but theyre keeping it quiet for now).GlobalBox wrote:Does anyone know if Kal is off the card, notice boxrec have taken him off which is always iffy, however his twitter says he is off to the gym today

I actually got my tickets through Yafais site so I've sent an email asking if he is off if I can return them for a refund, I await a reply.
Stupid thing is if they would have come out as soon as they knew he was off and said it I'd have probably still gone to watch Eggington but the way they are hiding it and treating fans like an after thought makes me want a refund. Especially after how they handled the whole Gavin thing too. Wouldn't surprise me for Kal to end up in the May 30th card! That ones Pay Per View isn't it.
Re: Kal get injured?
It is crazy how they treat the average boxing fan although I am not sure they think they need us now, lots of the fighters they carry are big ticket sellers, you get other big groups of guys go for the evening together and don't really care who's on, the boxing fan of yesteryear is a thing of the past for many reasons, one reason being the hassle in arenas, some shows have more fights outside the ring than they do in it.
I am going to sound like an old fart and probably am but I remember the days when you were not allowed up and down in your seats except for the minute between rounds, if you had been for a wizz or a drink, you were made to wait outside the main area until the bell went and then leg it back to your seat so as not to affect peoples views, even at ringside now, friends and family are up and down all the time, the people behind who probably did not get there tickets for nothing, see bugger all unless they jump up and it concertinas back and viewing is pretty rough at a lot of these.
I find myself going less and less to live shows nowadays, I traveled all over to see good bills and good fighters but its not the same for me anymore.
Most of the time i sit safely in the front room, couple of beers, home made ruby and no danger of a clip round the earhole except from the wife if I yell too loud at the screen and wake the grand-kids up if they are staying over.
Rant over, my apoloigies

Re: Kal get injured?
Just looked at this 'card' on boxrec. My oh my, and this is what we get on Sky these days. Shocking.
Re: Kal get injured?
Yeah hes definitely not injured but his face has dissapeared off the poster image (replaced with Macklins, Gavins had already been replaced by AJs Matchroom are getting use out of their photoshop for this card) and the fights no longer listed on boxrec.maley1984 wrote:He was sparring louis norman yesterday pics r on Facebook
If I was injured and they came out and said it I'd accept that fair enough but if hes switched for some other fight for Matchroom (like Gavin) then I'll be fuming and never buy a ticket for a Matchroom show again.
Re: Kal get injured?
Exxactly especially is the case with Matchroom, theyve got their Towie loving, go to the darts for 'the crack' type crowds Hearn thinks he doesn't need/doesn't want anything else.GlobalBox wrote:It is crazy how they treat the average boxing fan although I am not sure they think they need us now
