for a start that is not a huge amount of money, secondly what has your MP done in that time? and three he is entitled to take holiday and four Blair's $5m mansion in tuscany each time he has a holiday is one hell of a lot more expensive.

It is just more media bandwagon shit, he is just another freak in the BB house who happens to be a good politician (better than most). And his enemies in the Labour patry and the US are depserate to try and finish his career.

Galloway is an idiot end off, hes seen how he can rise to fame with muslims by supporting Sadaam. Sadaam was a fornicating evil dictator who tourtered his fellow countrymen amonst 1000's of other things, and says Sadaam is a nice man ect. fornicate off.

He never said nice things about Saddam outside of Saddam's earshot (I should imagine most people were nice in his earshot), but I suppose you believe anything the Sun tells you. At least he was serious about dialogue, unlike the UK and US leadership.

I would laso imagine that you think invading a foriegn country under the guise of national defense is a good thing, and taking a country that was poor, but working and turning into a pile of rubble and civil war was a good thing too.

Wait a miniute when did he actually support Saddam? Been anti-invasion isn't anti-Sadam. You'll be no doubt comforted that the alies managed to kill as many iraqis as Saddam (or maybe more?). At least Galloway talks about/ stands upto the hypocracy and decite that is the Us government

As was rightly pointed out £1300 is fornicate all in government and the amount the blair buddies piss away makes it a drop in the ocean. BTW Blair/Bush are usually holidaying and do sweet FA for domestic policies

.
I know nothing about him or his dealings with iraq or celebrity big brother, saw the link on another site. However I believe his dealings with Iraq were uncovered by the times, not the sun.

Also "what has your MP done in that time" - not the point, galloway didnt even have a vote in parliment yesterday, my MP is there should i need her and im surprised a politician feels the need to go into big brother of all things. I'd be interested to know if galloway is taking his time in the house as holiday or some sort of sabatical.

Sure, but the Sun, amongst others, is the paper that takes everything out of proprtion and gets the kind of response that Razor wrote. it was not exactly the kind of language the times uses. Also by dealing I guess you mean the 'evidence' of corruption, because there was no secret around his trips to Iraq and his attack on Sanctions, so I think you will find it was the Telegraph that printed the forged documents and was then succesfully sued by Galloway.

Like I said, know nothing about it (at all actualy), i knew a broadsheet had "found" the documents as oppose to a red top, you'd think the telegraph would know better.

sorry to appear to be deliberately taking the opposite stated but he is quoted as saying most of the iraqi epopel didnt want saddam out anyway.

im not realy 100% sure how true or false this statement is.
however
this caused did cause some uprorar.

while i do have a smidgen of respect for him standing up the way he did in the face of a witch hunt by the US senate, he is reprehensible little devious shit all the same.

irrespective of the money, he is paid to be in parliamanet and not be on reality tv shows, its is in some ways a betrayal of his voters to be wasting his time on such matters when he should be trying to make life better for his constituents.

it pretty well documented he has one of the worst attendences at the house of commons so doing this may be hard to swallow for some..

just my take. but then again i think most politicians are reprehensible duplicitous little shits.

I know from some people of Iraqi extraction who have family there, that a lot of people supported Saddam. Not because he was an angel, but because the alternatives were even worse.

From what I understand, Iraq is a very tribal society, and part of the allure of having Sadaam in power was that he was able to prevent the country turning into various tribal and religious interests.

Saddam was a Muslim, but Iraq was a secular state, and considered a moderate arab nation before it fell out of favour with the west, largely to do with oil pipelines.

Let's not forget that Saddam game to power in the first place due to the interests of the American, British and French governments, who wanted stability in the region and an ally against Iran who were seen as a threat.

Britain and the US armed Saddam against Iran, to keep them in check, then turned on him when he started acting like he was in charge.

Now Saddam has gone, Iran are arming some of the muslim groups in Iraq to create civil instability, and will probably try invading or backing a coup at some point.

This being the case. George Galloway is a selve serving prat who has no business being in a TV show, he's losing his political credibility by the second, and he should try at least turning up to parliament occasionally.

He was 623rd out of 625 MP's in parliament for attendance.

The guy comes across as being more obsessed with his profile than his politics.
