Can't wait
Re: Mark de Mori - WBU Heavyweight May 9th
de mori has obviously looked far and wide for the right opponent ,, Got me stuffed how he actualy gets put on any promotions with his refusal to fight anyone who can or will hit back ... Thing is don't be suprised if he gets beat
Re: Mark de Mori - WBU Heavyweight May 9th
It is quite a weak opponent - there are a lot of journeymen with poorer looking records who would be much tougher (your Gbenga Oluokuns or Konstantin Airichs), it's a pity Mark can't or won't go down this route.

de Mori has to be the most ambitionless heavyweight in the division. If he didn't have King doing his bidding no organization would even rate him.coneye wrote:de mori has obviously looked far and wide for the right opponent ,, Got me stuffed how he actualy gets put on any promotions with his refusal to fight anyone who can or will hit back ... He will likely look back when his career is over and regret not having stepped up to see what he could have actually achieved.cold187 wrote:im sure enough Croatians truly believe he is the world heavyweight champion....feeding his ego
Then again, he might be just taking the safest possible route to a boxing income and not give a crap? That's certainly the way it appears.

He's done OK , he's already far exceeded his skill level . Just cannot work out for the life of me how he gets promoters to put him on in the first place , nevermind pay out good money to get him a win .Like a Boss wrote:He will likely look back when his career is over and regret not having stepped up to see what he could have actually achieved.cold187 wrote:im sure enough Croatians truly believe he is the world heavyweight champion....feeding his ego

He still is a pretty entertaining body puncher which is refreshing in the division. Wish he was busier. His last fight got canceled last minute to a lesser opponent because King would've said he might fight Wilder in June.
Hls of his last fight in May

Don King hasn't been the least bit involved in De Mori's most recent fights in Europe. Certainly not on the financial side.
If he didn't arrange fights by himself, he simply wouldn't fight. It's not as if he's making big money but he is at least defending his title.

Nothing like a 41 year old with a low KO %.

Defending his title????? Yeah, I got a title too.
Actually de Mori was likely the backup plan for Wilder if Molina fell thru.

Jesus wept
Me thinks DeMori won't pass a PED test
Why else would he be licking the floor after the bottom of the barrel has well and truly corroded through?

It's a nothing title. The reality is he is fighting yet another push-over opponent. Farah has been stopped 14 times and rates as nothing more than a stocking filler.ringtoneboxing wrote:Don King hasn't been the least bit involved in De Mori's most recent fights in Europe. Re: Mark de Mori - WBU Heavyweight May 9th
There are a number of South American journeymen who would give de Mori a decent fight: Brazilians Nascemento, Costa Junior and Zumbano have all travelled to Europe to fight up-and-comers, and all would be a far better fight and give de Mori a yardstick to compare his performance against lads like Parker, Whyte, Price and Takam. The same with Argentines Zarate and Avila (whose past opponents include Gjergjaj, Joshua and Chisora).
Farah, who got stopped twice within two rounds by 50 year old Bronco Billy Wright, is a disappointing opponent.

It appears that de Mori's last opponent, Radenko Kovac, has never had a boxrec rating higher than 0. That is pretty stiff matchmaking right there.
If I were doing matchmaking for him, I would at least want him fighting people in the top 200. Oleksiy Mazikin, Jean Mark Monrose, Mickael Vieira, Salvatore Erittu, or Cyril Leonet. I would seek to continue maintaining or progressing from that caliber thereafter.
Boxrec says Mark de Mori's next opponent is Saul Farrah. If you expect Mark de Mori to be seeking a guaranteed win against an overmatched journeyman, then Saul is about as ambitious of an opponent as you could ask for. No major complaints from me, but also not impressed, just somewhere in the middle.
Also, there's this, for your amusement.
