Because, he's pretty much overdue for one IMO.
Now that he's had his showcase bout in front of all the world's top fight writers in that prelim at MSG last Saturday, it's time to move on from the Tom Dallas's of the world & get in there either a top 15 type or to fight another of the better unbeaten prospects. And soon.
It's time for Shaw to earn his keep.
Who would you like to see Martin matched with?
Myself? I'd be cool with any of the following:
Malik Scott
Franklin Lawrance
Derrick Rossy
Arreola
Andy Ruiz
Dominic Breazeale
Luis Ortiz
Fres Oquendo
Tony Thompson
Stiverne.
When is Shaw going to get Charles Martin a major TV fight?

I'd like to see him get some experience against the likes of Rossy, Oquendo, Eric Molina, and the Boxino winner. I think Amir Mansour would be a good opponent too if he beats Joey D, and probably the most dangerous of the names I've given.
If he beats some of those types without many problems I'd then like to see him fight guys like Szpilka, Browne, and Ruiz Jr.

Actually that's a great match up that I hadn't thought of my friend. Kudos!
The winner of the Chas. Martin - Joey D match up in a couple of weeks would provide an excellent, likely entertaining, tv friendly fight.
I think it's about time that the more casual boxing fans get to see Martin who's been flying under the radar since turning pro. Which is somewhat surprising in that Martin has beaten above average opposition ( including several other unbeaten heavies ) in building his unbeaten record.

hm14 - Yeah, activity is a must.
It'll certainly set him apart from the other up & comers, the majority of whom don't seem to want to fight much more than about three times a year.
And actually, I've rethought things since my post earlier this afternoon, now I think that Derrick Rossy would be the perfect opponent for him next.
Basically, the guy's been in there with almost everyone, he's experienced, he's big & tough & he's on an upswing being unlucky to not have at least gotten a draw vs Glazkov.
I think he'd be a great test & measuring stick for Martin. A bridge between Martin as an excellent prospect & Martin as a contender. With the kind of performance that I think Martin would put on against Rossy, I believe that it would put him on the map.
With his destructive, southpaw style, skill set & power, I think Martin would win impressively & inside the distance.

Martin appears to have excellent potential.
I think someone on the level of Rossy, Wach, Oquendo, Ortiz, Takam, Ustinov, or Scott would be the logical next step up for him.
And then, if he does well, a top 10 opponent like Jennings.
