It should on paper be a chess match, but fights of this magnitude can throw up all sorts of surprises.

The only thing I am hoping for is a clear cut winner. :TU:

A one-sided beatdown of Manny, with him fortunate to escape with his senses intact if that happens.

This will look like the Gatti fight except Gatti took a punch much better.

Can only see a fairly one sided Mayweather points win the outcome. Though I would love to see Pacquiao pull the surprise.

In Australia Sportsbet claim 3/4 of the money is being bet on Pacquiao. But in big events like this people tend to be with their hearts not their heads.

All Floyd has to do is continue to turn MP and avoid his left hand, once he does that and gets Packy's timing down this thing will be easy and a wrap.

It won't be a slugfest because Floyd doesn't fight that way, unlike Manny; he actually fights intellectually.

I think this guy is on to something with these:

You don't achieve what Manny Pacquiao has over the past 20 years without fighting intelligently. Don't get sucked in by the pre-match trash talk.

I can't believe you watched all those videos and reduced what was in them down to trash talk!! It's painfully obvious you didn't watch them so why don't you come back after watching them and then comment again.

Nothing in them was about trash talking.

What a load of Floyd man loving BS. I hope Floyd is watching tape of Manny in 1999 like those BS links of footage. It's these types of Floyd lovers that i pray cry in their beer Saturday night. It probably won't happen but I would just love every second of it.

In order of likelihood

1. Mayweather by decision
2. Pacquiao by decision
3. Mayweather by KO
4. Draw
5. Pacquiao by KO

Honestly, Pacquiao knocking Mayweather out is the only result that would surprise me in this fight.

The most likely outcome is a Mayweather points win. Little doubt about that. But you are only one punch from disaster in this sport and let's not forget Pacquiao can punch.

Apparently you didn't see the Bradley, JMM and Algieri breakdowns as well as the Shane analysis either. You stupid post tells me all I need to know that you didn't watch it but if you did you'd also would have seen that nothing has changed in Manny then and now.

You go ahead and keep dreaming that Floyd fans will be crying in their beers, remember; he who laughs last, laughs best.

Insult me if you want, I will have the last laugh.

To me what makes this an interesting fight is the awkwardness of Pacquiao. It has been said, but Mayweather has not encountered a guy that is so unpredictable. It's so much harder to time a guy and counter a guy when he does things so erratic. Pac's weird style will be a challenge for Floyd to figure out. Its funny to hear that Roach and Pac have this precise game plan, and style adjustments planned to counter Floyd's every move. A lot of it is Roach being in full retard mode.

I think everyone knows pretty much what Pac is going to bring. What the big question mark is what type of style will Floyd choose to bring? Will he stop Pac in his tracks and school him like he did Canelo, or lay on the ropes like he did in Maidana I? I think - my prediction - is the first 2, 3, 4 rounds will be Hagler-Hearns like, with Floyd finishing Pac in the mid to late rounds. I think Pac will force Floyd to actually fight, and later regret it because he brought out he best in Floyd.

The "Floyd by KO" talk is weird. Last time he stopped somebody that was watching the fight instead of whatever Ortiz was doing, people were still talkin about don Imus and the sopranos finale. Floyd doesn't stop welterweights.

that's a good point by Squiggy.
UD12 for Mayweather. It'll be an exciting fight as we watch it due to the anticipation of every minute. However, thinking back on it, it'll be a somewhat boring fight. Mayweather is too good on defense and doesn't go for the KO but wins rounds.

Before nearly every fight he's had over the last decade or so I've seen a sizeable number of predictions that he'll win by stoppage, but of course in the large majority of those bouts he never came close to stopping his opponent despite repeatedly hitting them flush. I regularly see people suggest that his power is underrated but in my opinion it's more likely overrated; even the oft-maligned Amir Khan only needed about a minute to drop Maidana, something Mayweather didn't accomplish over 24 rounds.

LOL. I bet if Floyd loses then you will abandon his fanclub and jump on the next undefeated fighter's wagon. I know your kind.

Remember Khan fought a Maidana that had to cut a lot of weight to get to 140. Maidana was noticeably bigger and stronger against Floyd, and weighed 165 I know in the first fight. Khan did deliver a nice liver shot, but that doesn't prove he hits harder than Floyd like you are eluding to.

The reason I think the fight will be stopped isn't because of a blow like JMM delivered, but more from an accumulation of punches. Sure I can be wrong, but do think Floyd will try to make a statement in this fight. Maybe Pac will KO Floyd? Anything can happen in boxing.

The "Floyd by KO" talk made by myself and a few others here really isn't just about Mayweather.

It's also about Manny and who he is. It is actually a grudging respect.

Pacquiao is one of only a few guys in the sport who just won't quit, no matter how bad the fight gets.

And it will get bad. Very bad.

We will see it early.

We will see Floyd in complete control.

And Pac fans will keep hope alive in the wait to see what happens when Manny nails Floyd.

And they will crap their pants when Pac does...and absolutely nothing happens.

That's when Pac fans should realize it's over.

The current worst version of Pacquiao is better than the best Arturo Gatti ever was. While entertaining, the notion that Gatti was one of the best of his era would be a joke.
