Froch on Sky
I can't believe I'm writing this, but I've actually been really impressed by him in the run up to this fight. He seems genuinely pleased to be part of it and truly humbled by the words Bhop and Floyd said to him. Not a hint of the arrogance he's shown over here.
Re: Froch on Sky
just watched him now talking to mayweather, wide eyed and bigging himself up. looked like he had been on the beak lol. i cant take to the bloke, never could.

Re: Froch on Sky
I've been his biggest critic on here for years! He wasn't bigging himself up, he even said he's not a one punch artist. He looked honoured Floyd even knew who he was.BigRed wrote:just watched him now talking to mayweather, wide eyed and bigging himself up. looked like he had been on the beak lol. i cant take to the bloke, never could.
Re: Froch on Sky
I remember when my mates used to say that Lloyd Honeyghan was arrogant.
One of the nicer boxers I met. Top bloke.
Sometimes the public/tv persona doesn't always show the whole story.

Yep, especially when he saidmickey1975 wrote: Not a hint of the arrogance he's shown over here.
" i'd like to ask you a question Floyd, if you don't mind ? in my last fight, before I knocked out George groves at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 people........I did a lot of swimming and I chopped down trees, and held my feet before I knocked him out.....is that what you're planning ?"

Yes, I noticed that, but he did say "I'm not known as a one punch knockout artist" first. It was a good question. Basically asking, I trained for a knockout, are you? He could have left the 80,000 bit out, but it is an impressive stat!

Floyd's face was quite funny during that zinger of a question ( George Groves? Who he?! )
Carl: anyway Floyd, enough about me - what about you ? what do you think about me?

But it was Floyd who initiated the exchange by acknowledging Froch!MightyWarrior wrote:Floyd's face was quite funny during that zinger of a question ( George Groves? Who he?! )

Okay I didn't see that bit, and I'm glad that Floyd recognised Carl and of course not surprised either, but it's funny that Carl feels the need to to talk himself up all the time ,he really doesn't need to and should learn to relax a bit more.
I could only watch bits of the sky promo because Adam Smith and Johnny are just teeth grindingly unbearable but the other clip I caught was Carl saying how star stuck he was at all the famous faces in the room, and how he was staring at them all, and they were all staring back at him too.

I agree with the OP. He is a good pundit. I couldn't stick him before when Calzaghe was around but he's more than proved himself. I read his autobiography and it was a right good read. If every world level fighter had the same attitude as Carl Froch it would only benefit our sport.
Re: Froch on Sky
He is the best pundit sky have got, talks sense about the fights.
And I'm still always surprised that people are surprised that fighters have an ego.

Yes without a doubt, the guy is a total professional, I think comes across very well in these interviews.

Re: Froch on Sky
I like Froch but I smiled when he mentioned his KO of Groves at Wembley in front of 80'000
Re: Froch on Sky
Well he did knock out George Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley, it's not like he's bullshitting.
Re: Froch on Sky
Groves fan are probably best turning over when he's on, because Froch is gonna troll the sh*t out of him at every chance. He might even throw a David Brent wink at the camera for him too. He had 6 months of grief from the guy and his rabid supporters, and he's gonna twist that knife forever.

Re: Froch on Sky
Penny for Paul Smith and Jamie Moore's thoughts...... Dropped for Carl Froch it seems. Mayweather Looked really awkward when Froch asked the 2nd question and kinda butted in.
Re: Froch on Sky
Froch comes across well, he is obviously a fan as well as a champ, he seems to be enjoying himself and why not?

Re: Froch on Sky
I wouldn't mind Froch on the commentary team for tonight to be honest. If it is Watt and Nick, then at least a 3rd voice will drown out some of their boring, mono-toned dribble. They could potentially ruin the fight for us UK fans watching Sky.
Anyone know who Sky will be using? I've not watched the Las Vegas Ringside shows this week, so no idea who is out there yet. Guessing it will be Watt and Nick or maybe Adam Smith? I can see Adam wanting a part of the historic event.

I thought pauli malignaggi was very good during froch groves. Jim Watt winds me up every fight.

Its not that rare I don't think mate. For some reason I have heard a lot more interviews on the radio than I have seen on tv, and he's always come across very well somewhat to my surprise.mickey1975 wrote:I can't believe I'm writing this, but I've actually been really impressed by him in the run up to this fight. Re: Froch on Sky
Me too, Jack - Paulie has good insights and is funny with it, I think Jim has lived well off his victories, both Froch and Paul Smith are better at the job.Old Jack J wrote:I thought pauli malignaggi was very good during froch groves. Jim Watt winds me up every fight.
Re: Froch on Sky
I'm sure if any of us knocked out a hated rival in front of a packed Wembley we would bring it up at every opportunity.
