Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
Terrible sportsmanship by Manny in the interview. Either he was lying through his teeth or he is insane. How could he possibly think he won that fight. I gave him 3 rounds at best. Totally outclassed. He needs to retire.
Would like to see Khan v Mayweather next, or Brook v Mayweather. Doubt we`ll see either.

As I said over on the CS, I had Floyd winning 8-4, and I feel I was pretty generous to Manny in that.
Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
No one will be happy until Floyd loses, yes manny is past his best, yes Floyd is 38. If Floyd beat Golovkin tomorrow haters will always hate ! His the best I've ever witnessed and one of the best of all time, bring on khan or brook for a more exciting fight !

Won't happen, the fight won't happen. If it does Mayweather will not beat Golovkin, I tell you now.

Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
There's a long list of boxers he missed or fought when they were fading. I won't type it out because, like you say, it only ever reads as pissed-on chips. Also, there's a chance that Mayweather could've beaten everyone on it. But for a fighter of such brilliance, that we never saw him fight those guys is a sporting tragedy.jessi wrote:No one will be happy until Floyd loses
Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
I'm not saying he will, it's hypothetical, it shouldn't happen, ones 147/150 the other is 161/165Ian1973 wrote:jessi wrote:No one will be happy until Floyd loses, yes manny is past his best, yes Floyd is 38. They're both somewhat unusual for fighting close to their walking-around weights. There's about a stone between them. Same height, though, and Mayweather has a reach advantage.jessi wrote:ones 147/150 the other is 161/165

Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
Nah, it's unfair on Floyd. Consider their starting weights. Golovkin's always been a natural 150+.
Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
I scored it 9-3, one of the rounds I gave to Mayweather was close so one could make a case for 8-4 but obviously Pacquiao was in a different fight to the one we all watched or I suppose that disappointment caused him to say what he did in the post-fight interview... I was one of the many who thought it would be much closer with Pacquiao having the best of the early rounds and Mayweather taking over in the second half of the fight but those first three rounds changed all that.
It wasn't a great fight for the casual fan and was always going to be an anti-climax, but for true fans of the sport it was a great performance from Mayweather who we must surely now consider the best of this generation, whether you 'like' him or not...

From a British point of view, if khan gets the nod next then it goes the same way as pacquiao fight. If brook gets the nod he gets outpointed in a real chess match as mayweather is probably the only fighter who can time punches better than brook.

Khan will give Mayweather hell. I doubt Mayweather will fight him. Unlike Pacman his speed hasn't gone plus Khan is bigger. Khan beats Mayweather. Laugh, add all smilies ................... I will store it all up. Brook won't beat Mayweather, isn't quick enough.

Ian, i completely disagree. Khan may have speed but he does not possess the brain to use it effectively. He may trouble him for a round or two but mayweather will adapt. Khan will then not be able to adapt.
If Garcia can figure out khan in 4 rounds, i think mayweather will be fine!

Morning Ian. I won't laugh at anyones opinion. I am a big advocate of timing beating speed in most cases. I believe brook and mayweather beat khan. I believe mayweather shuts out brook. I do agree that khan gives more problems to mayweather than brook but i think mayweather figures him out then does a number on him.Ian1973 wrote:Old Jack J wrote:From a British point of view, if khan gets the nod next then it goes the same way as pacquiao fight. Id quite like to see tim bradley in with mayweather.

Fair enough, you are well within your right of opinion obviously.
Remember to come back and discuss with me after the fight though ;;-) .... should it happen.
PS! Garcia didn't figure Khan out, he landed a bomb on him and Khan at the time wasn't smart enough to avoid it. He;d beat Garcia now, hands down.

Morning mate.
I don't think Brook does anything exceptionally enough to beat Mayweather so I agree with you there and I think Bradley is over-rated on the back of performances against the past his peak Pacquiao.
Khan doesn't just have speed, on the evidence of his last two or three performances it seems he's learned how to use it. I stick my neck on the block and go for Khan points.

Garcia was working and throwing on Khan's footwork as Khan kept repeating the same move and attack lines. That to me is working him out

Ok, cool, I respect your opinion. Question for you:
If the fight was tomorrow, Garcia vs Khan, who do you think would win?

Yet wiener boy has fought far better opposition than nearly every similarly experienced pro has and after being repeatedly fouled by a significantly bigger and more experienced opponent he finished strong and had him reeling. Maybe more boxers should try to be bitchy wieners.Horse wrote:Lomachenko is a bitch.
No heart wiener boy.
I agree that he isn't close to being top 5 P4P yet though.
