Who was more entertaining and impressive: Lomachenko or Floyd?

Lomachenko stole the show IMO and that was despite feeling like he could have shown more killer instinct much earlier. That was an exhibition in boxing

I started a thread about Loma and LSC and it hasn't gotten one response. I imagine that many casual fans, if they even watched the Loma fight, have already forgotten about it despite his impressive showing.

Seriously?
Floyd was facing one the best fighters in history and the highly skilled Loma had an opponent on a much lower level than himself.
Who was more entertaining in their losing effort- Pac or Jose Cayetano?
Loma was far more impressive because he had a far, far lesser challenge.

I agree but i ll give Loma a good hand has I thought is showing was great. But like you said the opposition level was on a complete different planetuptconnect wrote:Seriously?

To be fair, he asks about casual fans in the body of the post and says 'Lomachenko' below that.
I suspect that most casual fans forgot about Lomachenko once the main event started, or perhaps even earlier. He looked good but obviously his opponent is nowhere near as good as Pac, so it's tough for me to say that he was more impressive.

I get that, but to the "casual" fan being impressed most, they could have put 2 brawlers in that stand in a booth and block punches with their chins and those casuals would eat it up and say that's what all boxing should be like.crusader wrote:To be fair, he asks about casual fans in the body of the post and says 'Lomachenko' below that.
But even then, I suspect that most casual fans forgot about Lomachenko once the main event started, or perhaps even earlier.

I thought to myself at the last minute im not paying ppv and listened to it on the radio instead... as not being impressed with the weak underard ...
tbh dont think its fair to compare the MW V manny when lom was fighting an average fighter ..

Well done on not paying out for PPV, when I've stayed strong I've been really chuffed. Floyd was a league above Manny in every department, Loma was 2 or 3 leagues above his opponent. Both are excellent punch pickers who show little inclination to go all out.ajwesty13 wrote:I thought to myself at the last minute im not paying ppv and listened to it on the radio instead... as not being impressed with the weak underard ...

Loma's father and trainer actually suggested to him that he was being too aggressive at one point, which I strongly disagree with. It was mentioned that his father has previously only been an amateur trainer and I think that's fairly evident, though I noticed that Loma was more willing to give back the rough stuff (namely punching in clinches and low-blows) than he has in the past.
Re: Who was more entertaining and impressive: Lomachenko or Floyd?
what matter is, which fight was entertaining?
vasyl fought a nobiody, but the fight was entertaining
floyd fought a atg, but the fight was boring
i dont care if you fight a nobody or a atg, you should at least give the fight some action!
floyd dominated manny in some rounds, why didnt he once tried to mix it up or tried to tko or knock him down? only piddy paddy punches and jabs? boring!
a boring fight means nothing. sure floyd is better than manny and higher than him on a p4p list, but who cares, it doesn matter being better when bring the crowd to sleep.

dont get me wrong it was hard not to but i just had that feeling the fight was going to live up to the hype and the undercard was realy flimsy...palooka wrote:Well done on not paying out for PPV, when I've stayed strong I've been really chuffed. I thought Hart had all the advantages but failed to shine, Jimenez tried to bring the fight but was undersized, lacked the power to make Hart respect him and lacked the ability to take Hart out of his comfort zone. Hart let loose in the round that he stopped Jimenez but aside from that round it was really disappointing.ajwesty13 wrote:dont get me wrong it was hard not to but i just had that feeling the fight was going to live up to the hype and the undercard was realy flimsy...palooka wrote:Well done on not paying out for PPV, when I've stayed strong I've been really chuffed. Re: Who was more entertaining and impressive: Lomachenko or Floyd?
Lomachenko had the only worthy performance in an otherwise very poor PPV event for the price.
With the number of fighters managed by Haymon and promoted by Arum, they could easily have had some decent matchups on the undercard. Instead we had mismatches.

+1. Fight of the week as far as I am concerned. I spoke to several casuals and they were all impressed.Boxing Prospect wrote:Lomachenko stole the show IMO and that was despite feeling like he could have shown more killer instinct much earlier. That was an exhibition in boxing
