floyd giving up the belts to give others opportunity ...
... what a piece of marketing crap. "giving others
chances" ... please. just: please. you use every
opportunity to make a headline, that's it. you will
retire soon, then the belts are vacated anyways.
the only reason you do it earlier than that is to
make another little marketing gag.
regarding the shoulder injury of pacquiao, i think
it suits fighters better if they do not go there and
use it in a post fight presser. reality is there will
be no rematch, because the fight was too boring.
shoulder or not, he said he had the fight and this
was the reason he did not press more in 11 and 12.
stupid corner mistake if that is true. wise of floyd
senior as apparently he did the opposite.
all in all i won't miss either man when they have
retired. floyd fights smart, but he really is not
exciting and manny is passed it.

is kind of laughable. makes me think he isn't considering brook, though, because the only
reason would be to take the last belt at 147.

also eliminates the prospect of the wbc declaring khan as a mandatory,
and the wba and wbo trying to influence his next opponent choice.

The BS shoulder injury is just an EXCUSE!! First people cry that Floyd has a lock on the sport and it's not good, then he does this to give others an opportunity and y'all still cry like biatches.man wrote:... what a piece of marketing crap. "giving others

Go cry a river somewhere else SORE LOSERS.
Re: floyd giving up the belts to give others opportunity ...
If FMJ wants to give someone (and boxing) a chance, he would give Kell Brook or Thurman am opportunity to carry the sport forward the way DLH passed the torch to both him AND Manny.
We are well advised NOT to hold our collective breath on that.
FMJ is the best of the era, and I respect his business acumen, but he has done the industry no favors, and is very likely to have had a net negative effect on it.
I am not interested in him becoming a drooling zombie for the sport but passing the torch in a beneficial way is not too much to ask.

So according to YOU, he should keep paying 600,000 dollars or whatever amount for each BELT/TITLE just to please who................You??Tanzio wrote:If FMJ wants to give someone (and boxing) a chance, he would give Kell Brook or Thurman am opportunity to carry the sport forward the way DLH passed the torch to both him AND Manny.

Fans are never satisfied, they cried that Floyd has a stranglehold on boxing and now that he relinquishes it y'all still find a reason to b*tch and moan.
Floyd still can fight whoever he wants, he just won't be fighting for any titles or belts.

Re: floyd giving up the belts to give others opportunity ...
i would have liked to see manny get the nod, i
admit that. to me the fight was really close and
could go either way, which doesn't change the
fact that it was really boring. yes, there was all
kinds of faints and finesse, but still, at this level
and after all the hype i would have expected an
all-in at a certain point from manny. was the
worst boring manny fight including his KO-loss.
floyd is never "making" fights, everyone knows
that. he fought the way he always does and he
gets the nods. maybe it is sour grapes, but i do
not think he would have got such a clear decision
forty years ago. he did very little IMO. but that
is surely not his fault.
regarding this injury thing, people should keep
this to themselves. like hearns did when he
broke his hand against marvin. this is the way
you do it. if manny and his team decided he
could compete then he could compete, end of
story. no whining. shut up, keep it to yourself
and tell ten years later - if ever.
regarding the belt vacation, dear floyd fans,
common, that is clearly a publicity stunt that
flourishes on your naivety. floyd gives them
up for the publicity and because it makes no
difference whatsoever, even more, he floats
now above all titles, having none, while being
the best on the planet. how cool is that?
trust me "opportunity for others" is the last
of all reasons he does this for ...

Oh that's about what I expected, the minute you guys are called out on your BS is the minute you result to lame a$$, half-witted responses with g@y personal insults.Tanzio wrote:. . . and no matter what, you will continue housing his sac in your cheeks like a squirrel with nuts, right Turb?
That type of thinking says a lot about your sexual thoughts of yourself.

When you have to code half of your goddamn response because it's full of "naughty" words, you might want to stop and think about said response and your place in the discussion.KBB wrote:Oh that's about what I expected, the minute you guys are called out on your BS is the minute you result to lame a$$, half-witted responses with g@y personal insults.Tanzio wrote:. . . and no matter what, you will continue housing his sac in your cheeks like a squirrel with nuts, right Turb?

I'm not buying anything Floyd says when it comes to his opponent. Remember the Maidana vs Khan poll?

tape right after the fight. floyd is definitely not to
keen on keeping his word.
but i must say it surprises me how people here hang
on his lips and take everything their god utters as if
it had perfume fragrance. seems really naive to me.
here is a father who has no problem with showing
his kids together with a bunch of hookers in a self
organised documentary. "the lifestyle" is a terrible
joke and i would have dismissed it as another publicity
stun, but including his kids in there shows something
about his personality and it ain't good. who on earth
does this? looks, money and showing off are dwarfing
things like love, care and integrity ... great messages
for his kids. truth is he believes his success earns him
the right to write all rules new.
i for one do not think differently about him because
of his non stop self promoting tour. is just who he
is. the greatest boxer in the world doesn't have to be
the best person. but just because he is the greatest
boxer doesn't mean i take everything he says and
does at face value. i definitely do not buy the charity
aspect of his belt vacating ...
