Garcia v Khan tomorrow, id say Garcia starts favourite on the basis that every time he landed he hurt Khan
Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
If Khan hadn't taken that last punch to the top of the head he stood a reasonable chance of recovering I thought.
A rematch with Garcia would be fascinating imo.

Instead of whining he should have fouled him back.crusader wrote:Yet wiener boy has fought far better opposition than nearly every similarly experienced pro has and after being repeatedly fouled by a significantly bigger and more experienced opponent he finished strong and had him reeling. Maybe more boxers should try to be bitchy wieners.
I agree that he isn't close to being top 5 P4P yet though.
I didn't like what he said after the fight and I'm unlikely to forget his attitude for a long time.

Pacquiao was pathetic against Mayweather.
I'm shocked by his lack of effort. That performance will be attached to his reputation for all time.
Freddy Roach should hang his head in shame along with Pacquiao.

Don't forget, Floyd is older also. Plus yes, speed does kill but other skills can nullify it. I'll never forget Vernon Forrest (RIP's) response when interviewed after the first Mosley bout.Ian1973 wrote:
Speed kills. If you lose it you lose 60% of what you are - look at Fernando Torres (crap example i know).
The old Pac would've beat Algieri inside 2/3 rounds - he is nowhere near what he was.
People have mentioned DLH a few times, as examples of how pressure can beat Floyd - its looking increasing (with each fight) that that fight was just a one off poorish performance when his hands were particularly bad.

Morning everyone
bet there's some sore heads - in had it for Floyd 8 rounds to 3 with 1 even or 9 to 3. I was pulling for Manny to commit and throw combinations but he felt the power and accuracy early and was afraid of taking that full step in to range. Floyd was brilliant, his punches were hard and fast and he did win in 2nd gear. Floyd is also obviously a very tough man, when he was touched he remained calm, regrouped and got back to his boxing. I think Manny can still beat many welters but can't think of one welter/light middle who would trouble Floyd overly; he isn't my cup of tea but he is a great boxer, the best of the last 20 years without a doubt.

Went as most expected.
I had Floyd by 3 , but I scored several rounds even, which I know judges don't like to do.
The sky commentary team was woeful, too interested in showing they had picked the right winner to add anything to the event .
For a moment at the start of the 11th I thought Floyd was going to try for the KO, but then he decided it was too risky.
I also thought he switched emphasis from the stright right to the left hook as the best chance of a stoppage, but never really got it working.

Same. Pacquiao was throwing more, but Mayweather was nullifying it all. Some might score the attempted offence, and some might score the defensive mastery, while the rest of us saw a few drawn rounds.J-C wrote:I had Floyd by 3 , but I scored several rounds even, which I know judges don't like to do.
The Viper was awesome in his pomp. I'm gonna have to rewatch his Mosley and Quartey fights soon.stujones wrote:Vernon Forrest (RIP's)

Re: Mayweather vs Pacquiao RBR
can't see Floyd retiring at 49-0. At least 2 more fights left for me.
Floyd vs. Thurman? Marquez? Brook? Khan?
Pacquiao vs. Maidana? Bradley?
