Norris was past it by then and was in no one's top 10........nobody got thrown to the wolves
The consensus at the time was that Pele had been thrown to the wolves. Being stopped in 3 by Julius Francis only to be matched with the world class Orlin Norris? You're delusional if you think that was a sensible rehabilitation.

Also, he was in the WBO's top 10, for whatever that's worth.

Didnt say rehabilitation .....i think probably more of a quick way to get him back up there...but it went wrong...at that stage of his career he was not world class

Norris was no longer the man who manhandled Tucker, Page, Snipes, McCall et al but he was still lingering around world class. He boxed Tyson very nicely until blasted after the bell and then lost a close one to a sane, performing Golota. He was far from a cadaver and an awful comeback opponent, except financially.

Close one... really ? the closest card had him losing by 4 rounds and then Vitali did him in a round...he was passed his best ...like i said it was a chance to get him back up there it just didnt pay off

I meant the fight in reality, not the scorecards the judges turned in. The scores were derided by the announcers and the Boxing Monthly report, and the crowd jeered the result. The fight was designed as a Golota showcase. Norris as always was the unfashionable, unwanted anti-charisma in the opposite corner.

He boxed Golota with ambition. He boxed Klit like a man who had given up.

To go back to my original point, he was a ridiculous comeback opponent for Pele Reid. The proof? Orlin Norris KO1 Pele Reid.

I really don't know what's going on with Price, is it injury again? Lack of confidence? Or could it be a better offer or bigger fight coming up.
A fit and motivated Maurius Wach whoops David Price anyhow.
