Floyd's Last Opponent Possibilities (+Poll)

So knowing that Floyd will fight one last time and that Manny rematch is not needed I made a list of all possibilities for Floyd:

Danny Garcia @ 147 - Probably the most likely option. Danny is with Haymon, undefeated and the 140 Ring Champion. Plus Danny can't make 140 anymore and is moving up to 147 so this fight makes sense. Garcia is an easy fight for Floyd and there would be no doubt that this would be Floyd's 49th win equaling Rocky Marciano's 49-0 record. On top of that we all hate Danny Garcia passionately for being such a crappy champion (fighting "Rod Salka"s, robbing Herrera and Peterson, ducking mandatory fights, etc.) so in this fight perhaps Floyd can finally be the "good guy" for once in his career.

Miguel Cotto @ 160-154 - This fight makes sense in terms of money. Cotto always bring in good money with his fan base. Floyd wouldn't need to fight a true Middleweight in Cotto who himself is basically a welterweight. Also if Floyd fought Cotto for his WBC Middleweight Belt and won he could become a World Champion in 6 divisions. He would be the only man, other than Manny (who has been champion in 8 divisions), to have belts in 6 different divisions. Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar, and Donaire are the only ones to win 5.

Amir Khan @ 147 - Khan has been chasing this fight for a while and there is good money in this fight. However this fight is dangerous for Floyd because he won't have the reach advantage and loses in height to Khan. Plus Khan has one of the fastest hands if not the fastest in boxing and is in his prime. I think it's a dangerous fight for Floyd, and I doubt he would risk taking it as his last fight. Plus I don't know if Haymon would want it either, because Amir is one loss away from being thrown into the dumpster of boxing.

Erislandy Lara @ 154 - This fight is a long shot, but I like it because you got a fighter who is from a Cuban school that fights in a similar style to Floyd. Lara is probably one of the few boxers left out there that can possibly outbox Floyd in his own art. Problem is that Lara isn't a well known name, but at 154 this would certainly be a fight that true boxing fans would want to see.

These probably will not happen:

Kell Brook @ 147 - It would be nice to see Floyd fight Brook and try to become the unified Welterweight champion with all 4 belts, but Floyd vacated the WBO belt right after the win yesterday. Fighting Brook doesn't make sense since he is a relatively unknown name at this point and wouldn't bring as much money as the rest. In theory I think it would be an interesting fight if it was a unification, but unfortunately won't happen.

Canelo @ 154 - Won't happen because Canelo is at HBO now. Plus I don't think Canelo is ready to win a rematch either. Won't happen.

Keith Thurman @ 147 - I have serious doubt that Haymon would let Thurman get a loss just for money. Thurman gets beaten easily in this fight. Haymon is trying to build an unbeaten fighter in Thurman so this won't happen imo. Plus Thurman isn't really that known either.

GGG @ 160-154 - This simply won't happen because GGG is too big. Floyd would be scared to go all the way to 160, plus GGG isn't an idiot to drop down to some catch weight around 156 and go into this weak and dehydrated as f*ck.

FYI, Welter limit is 147.

I think it will be Cotto for his middle belt, since he will vacate his others. Before that I would have said Garcia.

Yeah true thanks changed it.

Cotto might be difficult because Haymon is somewhat involved in Floyd's career and Haymon and RocNation don't really work together. Plus I'm not quite sure if Cotto has a contract with HBO or he is on a one fight at a time basis.

What if Mundine stomps Trout? (which would surprise me, Trout is excellent)

Anthony has a tremendous fan base. He is good on the mic/camera, and I believe his Australian PPV numbers are outstanding.

Maybe it's too much of a mismatch... But if LSC working out on heavy bag can get people to tune in, then FM vs AM is easily justified.
