OBJECTIVITY!!

Post by KBB »

Why is it that every post I've read here in regards to this fight seems to lack any objectivity whatsoever from the Manny Pacquiao faithful?

Is it that impossible or implausible for you to just admit that your boy lost fair and square??

I admitted that Floyd lost to Castillo and was knocked down by Judah (though not counted by the Ref), why can't you admit that Manny lost fair and square?

Some of you are suggesting that Floyd bought Manny, some are suggesting the judges fixed the scoring, some are saying Floyd ran (even though he threw more punches and landed more).

Are you guys that BUTTHURT and angry that you cannot face the reality of the decision? What's wrong with expressing a little objectivity?

He lost to the best P4P fighter on the planet just like every other fighter has done, no shame in that.

Can't change a zebras stripes. They weren't objective before the fight and I didn't expect anything to change. Like I said before, once Floyd won the fight that nothing would change. I said the ending would be anti-climatic and everyone hoping for the next "thrilla in manilla" would be complaining about the fight knowing damn well it never had the chance of being that kind of fight and most likely wouldn't even really be competitive. Don't get me wrong there were competitive parts of the fight, but there was never really any doubt who was in control and it wasn't the beloved Pacquiao. You're asking people to do something they're not capable of doing and they've already proven that well before this fight. It's like asking a paraplegic to get outta their wheel chair and get his own glass of water.

What is most surprising is that they blame Floyd for doing what he usually does.

Yet, they find absolutely no fault in the reality that their guy never showed up.

Less than 7 connects per round.

And never did Manny throw caution to the wind and let his hands go over a whole round.

Practically a career low in punches attempted.

They should be disgusted by Pac's performance.

But instead, they make excuses for him.

Just like they always have.

Boxing is the one sport where self belief, even to the level of total delusion is near necessity.
I remember on the playground, when a friend of mine would fight another guy and get whooped, our crew would often tell that person he won, or it was a tie at worst so that he would feel better. And no matter how badly he got whooped, he would readily accept that.
And almost just as often, our desire for one of our own to win the fight would make us believe he actually did much better than he did in reality.

Combat and bias amongst the competing sides(human nature, I suppose) usually makes for interesting spin.

JCC Jr thought he was winning that last fight where he got his ass handed to him and quit like a b*tch.
And I don't doubt that even though he quit, in his head, he was winning until he got hurt, so it was just bad luck. And against Martinez, he won that, but the clock ran out first, so that was bad luck too..

Objectivity has me saying that i have never ever seen such bigger guy run so scared, for so long, from such a small guy. Floyd wins, hands down. But im left with a bad taste in the mouth.

Well that's not surprising considering you were going for Pacquiao and you've expressed your dislike for Floyd on several occasions.

Your post in itself tasted like perfectly aged wine to me. :OhYes:

Not sure where this 'running' BS comes from, how do you out-land your opponent 2-1 if you're running all night.

If you have a friend counting the punches? :OhYes:

It must have been KBB counting punches on Saturday, those punch stats were way off.

I watched this fight very closely in slow motion from rounds 1-12, and would rewind every time I questioned whether a punch actually landed until I got it right. There's no doubt the punch stats were way off, they were giving both fighters too much credit for the amount punches landed. But the fact was Floyd still easily out landed Pacquiao 2 to 1
