Bizarre reactions to the fight
Re: Bizarre reactions to the fight
Mayweather has a mix of black fans and wigga's that think he's the best thing since purple quality streets.
The rest of us have various opinions of him, his entertainment value and his timing / choices of opponent. Many of us think that outside the ring he's a vulgar, ostentatious wife beater.
I'd say that most of us stating that Floyd CLEARLY won - are not even massive fans of the guy !
So why are these weirdos going life and death to say Manny won?

Floyd won, I can't see how anyone could give manny more than 4 rounds and that is stretching it.

To go against the grain is the hipster way.G0mez wrote:Mayweather has a mix of black fans and wigga's that think he's the best thing since purple quality streets.

I don't think it's a hipsterism to think Manny won, it's simply deluded. He was thoroughly nullified by Floyd apart from one shot early on, and by the eighth round he'd practically given up. So much for the warrior spirit of the noble savage bollocks.Yes We Can wrote:To go against the grain is the hipster way.G0mez wrote:Mayweather has a mix of black fans and wigga's that think he's the best thing since purple quality streets.

Ultimately, greed made them get into the ring if they were not 100%
If they were fighting for free, then they'd have withdrew and people would have understood.
They could have let Khan in as a replacement instead, who was already in camp, or even Brook - and resched to September if he needed 40 days rest as reported.

My favourite is the chain of thought that what Floyd did on Sunday morning equates to Ring Generalship. Chickens should get stripes on their shoulders.

It's not Floyd's fault that Pacquiao isn't a better boxer.Ricky_ wrote:Tarkus wrote:The fact you need a PhD to understand who won the fight shows how inadequate the scoring is in boxing.

What's he supposed to do, dumb down his own skills just to give Pac a chance to win.

What's he supposed to do,
Fight? Initiate something? Try a little offense? Not clinch(foul)?
If Floyd ever came up against someone similar to himself you'd end up with 12 rounds of the first 6 minutes of Haye vs Harrisson.
Re: Bizarre reactions to the fight
I'd advise you to actually watch the fight but I fear it'll do no good. You hate Mayweather and you can't accept Pacquiao lost, no amount of factual information is going to change your opinion.

There was a fight?
I don't hate anyone, i don't even know them, they're sportsmen/entertainers. What grinds my gears is rewarding runners for merely running, if Floyd was allowed to use a cricket bat he'd poke his opponent with the handle and run, what he does is so far removed from the roots of the fight game it's more like dressage, with his technical talent being used solely for the benefit of winning a 10 from an old man ringside. Make em miss and make em pay has evolved into make em miss and run away.

Yes, but the guy who ran landed way more shots - it's not like h was outlanded.Ricky_ wrote:Mensa07 wrote:I'd advise you to actually watch the fight but I fear it'll do no good. You hate Mayweather and you can't accept Pacquiao lost, no amount of factual information is going to change your opinion.

I agree it made for a terrible spectacle, it bored me to tears, and I don't think either of them covered themselves in glory, but Floyd clearly dominated the fight.
