Khan or Cotto???

Post by caldo2025 »

Which will be Floyd's last fight in September? Cotto and Khan both made sure that they squeezed in the easiest possible fights as quickly as possible so that it left them plenty of time to be ready to fight again in September. But which will Floyd choose out of the two? Which boxer will give Floyd the toughest test and why? Which fight will bring in the most money?

Cotto: Though Floyd cites the Cotto fight as a "tough fight" and ranks him as one of the hardest punches he's fought, Floyd beat Cotto easily back then. This NEW Cotto enigma is all fabricated and Roach may have tightened up his game a little bit, let's not get crazy. It's the same Cotto we've always known and the same guy that has never won a big fight save the one legged fiasco with Sergio for the Middleweight belt. I think there's more money in this fight than the Khan fight but Cotto was a Diva before they gave him the lineal Middleweight Belt, will he relinquish his A side now that he's got a prestigious title to Floyd? Negotiation nightmare for Floyd.

Khan Khan has looked impressive since Virgil Hunters been standing on his ring apron. His patience has been under control for the most part, speed still blazingly fast and the move up in weight seems to suit him very well. No one really likes Khan so he'll have a tough time getting credit for anything in the ring but his shutout of Devon Alexander was an eye opener to me. I consider DA to be a fantastic boxer and outclassing a guy like that deserves a lot of credit. I think Khan gives Floyd the tougher fight of the two but I don't think that he will bring in the type of money that Cotto would. IMO, Khan represents less money for Floyd and more risk. I think Floyd beats both guys using his usual pecking in and out style but Khan's speed trumps Cotto's power as the bigger risk.

I feel that Floyd will go with Cotto for his last fight leaving Khan at the altar again. Cotto is older, slower, a better following and a prestigious title that Floyd would love to add to his mantle. Plus Khan has too big of a mouth in the media and Floyd doesn't appreciate how private negotiations become public knowledge so quickly.

Who do you think will be victim 49? If not Khan or Cotto, who else could be 49? I can't think of any other boxers capable of bringing in more money than these two (GGG is out of the question, won't happen) So who will it be?

According to some reports out of the Mayweather camp, Floyd is supposed to surprise us with his next move. I'm guessing that he gives Cotto the rematch at 160 and takes that strap and rides off into the sunset undefeated and a MW titlist.

If Floyd fights beyond that then he will face Khan over in the UK, he has stated he wants to fight over there for his UK fans, beating him would be the perfect ending to a 50-0 career surpassing Rocky Marciano and go down as one of best ever.
