Thats USA buys, obviously!

If the projections prove to be correct, not only will the fight surpass all previous PPV records, it will surpass the previous two biggest PPV records combined - Mayweather vs De La Hoya 2.5m and Mayweather vs Alvarez 2.2m.

Truely astonishing when you consider the supposed lack of promotional build up and the high price of the event.

If it's true Floyd will be getting a hell of a lot more than the poxy £120,000,000 he was expecting. Super car salesmen in Vegas will be creaming in their pants right now. :OhYes:

And everyone of them wasted their money..... $100.... The mind boggles. Not that I would've ever paid for it, unless I was rich, I would be gutted if I had let go of that. What's the average hourly working wage in the USA? $10 an hour maybe.....

I expect the more likely answer is that is Global purchases.

No way does this fight do more than 3million US buys.

They were already at 2.15 million in the US and they hadn't started counting the cable buys, which apparently usually make up 60-65% of the total,

Yep, fair play to them. They take the risks, hats off to them if they can make such money. It's crazy to think that Mayweather has almsot hoodwinked people into buying into his whole persona! His style of fighting, his personality etc, nothing suggests he should be such a massive ppv name but he has somehow managed it. Obviously a certain amount of it is down to a lack of bonafide boxing superstars right now

That's whats being reported, if cable makes up 60% it will come to 5.625 million buys in America alone.

Everyone buys into it for a reason.

People, generally, are stupid. It also sits well with the shallow, celebrity lifestyle dream people seem to be craving.

I like watching Floyd because he is a boxing master. I suspect 90% of those who bought Saturday's fight didn't watch for that reason!
