That's not saying I don't think he is good I reckon he gives Ricky a beat down which I don't want to see
I think people rate Mitchell too highly on here every chance he's had to shine he's got flattened. Katsidis was well past his best and burns was a light punching weak champion and they both knocked him out. Not sure why people think Figueroa wouldn't do the same.
I agree. Always tend to hear that he had problems or an off-night etc. Just so happens that these happen for him in the build up to his biggest fights.
Well May 30th is his last chance at the big time. Can understand these comments Kev is the prime UK example you can have all the talent but if you are not right mentally it means nothing.

I don't think Katsidis was well past it when they fought though it was the two fights he had afterwards JMM and Guerrero which really did damage him.

I hope he wins but can't see past him copping a beating from Figeroa. I hope he's getting paid well.
Life changing money perhaps?

I would laugh if it wasn't so sad.
To think when fast Eddie first burst onto the scene we all thought he was different. :(

McDonnell has a fair chance of winning. Kameda is a good opponent, possibly very good. Neither guy was brilliant in their most recent fight.

Burns has the harder job on Saturday. It's been a couple of years since he had a good fight and he's broke. Maybe desperation will inspire Burns to pull off the upset against a boxer who didn't look very good in his last fight. Unfortunately, it's more likely Burns doesn't have enough left to trouble a world class lightweight any more.

Non title unless the WBA regular counts.

Figueroa hasn't made the contracted weight of 140 lbs cam in at 141.5 where as Ricky came in at 139.2 disgraceful considering he was boxing at lightweight. I thought the fight was at 138 catch weight anyway but obviously not

Commonplace in America these days is it,I really do hope Burns has one more great performance in him,he used to always perform with good opponents, I can't see it but Figueroa hasn't looked as good last couple of times I seen him,his fight with Arakawa is one of the best I've seen

Frankie Gomez came in @ 147.5 for his 141 bout with Soto. Outrageous.

That's ridiculous Roach rates Gomez highly and this was a great fight for him that really is embarrassing and disrespectful to Soto.

Glen Tapia came in overweight for his headlining fight tonight on another televised US card. A lot of high-ish profile Americans missing weight!

Is burns getting a percentage of his purse?

Something really needs to be done about this. They're clearly not bothered about making the weight knowing that the opponent will need the purse.

The promoters should be liable to pay the full purse if his fighter comes more than a pound over
