Super Saturday of boxing

Post by chad »

It's another "Super Saturday" where SKY and B0xnati0n go head to head to bring us action from 5 different events!

SKY are showing the card from Birmingham featuring Eggington Vs. Lamptey, Macklin Vs. Albert along with others from the Matchroom stable including Luke Campbell, Anthony Joshua, Callum Smith and the Yafai brothers. SKY then jump to Texas to bring us Ricky Burns Vs. Omar Figueroa Jr and Tomoki Kameda Vs. Jamie McDonnell. All in it should be a good nights entertainment.

B0xnati0n kick off their action from Wembley arena with the likes of Skeete, Buglioni and Smith. Then its over to Germany for Felix Sturm Vs. Fedor Chudinov followed by Saul Alvarez Vs. James Kirkland from Texas.

Another one of those nights where I'll record one and watch another, or watch B0xnati0n on my TV with SKY Sports on my tablet at the same time. Between the 2, it's going to be a great night of boxing. Yes there is plenty of one sided match ups, but there is a bit of everything going on at all levels. Definitely worth getting the beers in!

Yup, there should be alot more entertainment this weekend than there was last weekend.
Canelo vs Kirkland in particular should be a war.

Didn't realise Sturm vs Chudinov had been picked up, great stuff. Altho Sky need to extend their show as it's only down for 4 hours.

Frankie Pit bull Gomez is chief support on the Alvarez v Kirkland show - Freddie Roache's 'can't miss' prospect has some lost ground to make up but his fan friendly style should round out a good card

The two UK cards wouldn't make a good one if they were combined!

I'll watch the Sky show and record all the BN stuff for Sunday's entertainment. Canelo vs Kirkland should be interesting. Looking forward to this weekend. The Brit cards aren't great but it's something to watch and at least the Burns/McDonnell fights are on at a reasonable time for us! That's me just recovering after pulling an all nighter last weekend!

Yeah thats true

Sadly I'm at the Brum show so I'll have loads to catch up on Sunday. Wanna try to watch Canelo / Kirkland live but if I've had a few beers I'll probably just crash once I get back.

Phones definitely going on flight mode!

I'll watch the allegedly card live then watch the Sky card after it and probably just watch Alvarez the next morning

All in all its a good nights boxing and I'll maybe polish off the rest of the beers that are left from last week

What time are Burns/McDonnell fights on? Can't find it in the planner?

I'm not sure exactly mate but I read it's daytime over in the states so probably during the Birmingham show I'd imagine. I've a couple of mates who are heading down to Birmingham for it (mental) and they were wondering if the Burns/McDonnell fights would be beamed into the arena but I'm not sure.

I normally record both channels. Start watching about 30 mins after it starts, fast-forward through the ads, chat and introductions, and switch at the end of each fight. I have usually seen all the action from both channels within 30 mins of the finish. I realise it wouldn't suit everybody but it suits me.

I think the US show is an afternoon one, so Ricky should be on around nine or 10 PM UK time

Yep according to Matchroom twitter, the UK card will be shown until 10pm, then coverage switches straight to the US for the Burns & McDonnell fights.
