Wahhhhh what was the point of that. Wahhhhhh.

Oh sh1t, wait I'm not expe and Prospect in a Matchroom thread.
Bit of a difference between a kid with 5 fights, the last of which was a draw against a Latvian, boxing a journeyman and a fighter that won a world title eliminator in his last fight boxing one.

Luke Campbell is a gold medalist and his foe was awful
Callum Smith is world ranked his opponent was awful

No one on the allegedly card is near that level thus the mismatches, whilst often pointless, aren't as crap.

I suspect Mitchell Vs Palma will be completely pointless for what it's worth and I often criticised what Warren had done for Paul Butler.

Zamora seems to be past it and the defeat to Mizsei isn't a good sign but he has been in at a good level in the past, albeit at 10st, so I'd expect a pretty comfortable win for Skeete. Not a brilliant opponent but he'll be Skeete's best or second best win behind Colin Lynes, step in the right direction for Skeete.

What about Shingo Wake, according to you one of the best at his weight barring Frampton and Rigo, against Jimmy Papaya, or whatever his name is? Wouldn't get KO1 mismatches in Japan would we? With a next fight being an eliminator, to an eliminator, against a guy nobody has heard of. All lines that would be used about your lad Wake's last two fights if they were done over here.

Paypa fight was originally scheduled for December before issues regarding a fight with Rigondeaux arose (originally Wake was supposed fight Paypa Dec 31, then he got offered Rigondeaux before TV and promotional issues almost saw him retire and Amagasa got the fight). Seems the Paypa fight was re-made as a result of the issues at the end of 2014. If you've seen the fight Paypa came to win and got caught by a monster uppercut. Also he was rankled relatively highly by the OPBF going in to that fight.

Mike Tawatchai might be someone "You've never heard of" but he is highly ranked by the IBF (in fact he's the highest ranked IBF contender right now) so the eliminator is a good step towards a major fight (from what I understand it's actually a final eliminator for Frampton). The alternatives at 122 for Wake would be a rematch with Oguni, a fight with a notable domestic foe (Ishimoto/Otake) or sit there whining and fighting absolute garbage opposition.

Tawatchi is, in regards to ranking, a step forward, not a waste of time 8 round bout with a horribly over-matched opponent serving no purpose. Paypa was also 14-0-1 since a 2-2 start, had never been stopped and was coming to win. More than can be said for half the lads Matchroom have on their cards who are merely their to collect a payday and go home.

Also for what it's worth, the Paypa fight wasn't shown on a highly hyped prime time TV slot, as far as I'm aware the only footage of it was fan-cammed. That's the other part of the Hearn issue, he's using prime TV slot for these show cases week after week after week

So just to be clear, rankings within an organisation are fine by you when its on a Japanese card. But when Ionat Dan, who was a poor opponent, but was mandatory, and highest rated IBF challenger, it's an unacceptable fight. Likewise the IBF eliminators, or WBC eliminators over here, that serve the purpose of moving the guys up the rankings, are poor when they are here on Sky. But over there in Japan, you make the excuses about guys coming to win and them being highly rated by some alphabet body. If Scott Quigg, hypothetically, before his fight with Salinas had fought Mike Tawatchai and blown him out in 1 round after Tawatchai came out fighting, you'd have said these exact words. 'What was the point in that?.' Like you do in every scenario like that involving a Matcroom fighter.

Lucas down heavily at the end of the 5th by a big left hook, saved by the bell

Its over seconds into the 6th,Pigford was losing that fight IMO,but he pulled it out the bag at the end there, ref steps in after a flurry from Joe,Lucas clearly hadn't recovered from the KD,

All the eye catching shots came from Simone there,I don't know if Pigford is too reliant on his power or he was eager to perform for the cameras but he has no regard for defence so he'll need to tighten up or he's a KO waiting to happen, fair dos for getting the W though

Did I slate Dan? I might of but I can't remember.
I can't recall really slating a genuine eliminator (I think Warrington Vs Tubieron was one I slated but that's been about it, if that was really an eliminator)

That's the only eliminator since you've been posting on a regular here I think. I can't recall you being a regular poster when Bellew and Brook were having their eliminators.

Also the way you went off on the WBO McDonnell v Komeda fight has me confused to hell. It's like you aren't happy the fight is happening because some belt isn't associated with it. And you were going off like the fight was off and Hearn had messed up because of some twitter crap from the WBO president. Likewise when Quigg v Otake was made, you said you expected the fight to be called off in the run up. It's like your hatred for Matchroom extends to such a point that you don't want to see good fights. And when they do happen there's always some caveat as to why it isn't really good, ie the WBO situation, like it makes the blindest bit of difference. I dislike the other big UK promoter because I remember how bad the cards on Sky were in the Calzaghe and Hatton days (pre Tszyu and Lacy.) But when he makes good fights I don't try to look for ways to downplay it, like complaining the guy is going abroad, or the belt I want isn't on the line. Lets just be happy Komeda v McDonnell is on shall we, for f uck sake.

I was being a bit facetious - the commenters - without fail - always talk about Buglioni being a 'big ticket seller'....Usually about 5 times every time he fights!
