Kirkland showed bravery
Kirkland showed bravery
I think it was a brave losing performance by him, going against a powerful and skilled fighter like Canelo, and absorbing some incredible flush shots.

He came to fight but is very limited at world level, his punches didn't seem to bother Canelo but fair play to James, he went out on his shield.

That is what I told people at my office.Would you rather you or your kid fight like Gatti or Mayweather?fergusg wrote:"Bravery" or "stupidity"?![]()
If you had a child that took up the sport of boxing, would you encourage them to emulate the likes of LaMotta, Gatti and Kirkland... or Whitaker, Mayweather and Locche?
Well they all said the same thing.I wouldn't want to get hit like that either.
Freaking DUH!!!!!!
It's a lot of fun when watching these fights but no one wants to be in one.

Completely agree, I never saw this as going past 6 rounds. Canelo is a long way above Kirlkland who is nothing more than a crude brawler.palooka wrote:He came to fight but is very limited at world level, his punches didn't seem to bother Canelo but fair play to James, he went out on his shield.

He also didn't exactly made himself any favors by coming in ring rusty.
He looked slow and buffed up, and his punches lacked crispness.
He was in much better shape vs Angulo.
