Anybody had one, how did it go, how long to recover, have you recovered full function?
Thanks
Subacromial Decrompression and Rotator Cuff Repair
Re: Subacromial Decrompression and Rotator Cuff Repair
I haven't but am having double keyhole surgery for a SLAP tear repair + also need to have an Acromio Clavicular joint excision. Just waiting for a date.
I have spoken to a guy here in work who had similar in December and is still not back to full strength and still has physio.
Good luck with it (if it's yourself).

Not sure exactly what that is, but I think I've killed a nerve or something in my shoulder as I keep having to move it, doesn't feel quite right. I was at the physio a few months ago as I'd put a minor tear in a tendon which led to some discomfort, so I rested it for ages and now it doesn't feel as right as my other one, although I've got full use again

I haven't had my op yet but I have a mate who's an accupuncturist who said not to bother and that he can sort it out, or at least give him a chance to.
Any thoughts?

Re: Subacromial Decrompression and Rotator Cuff Repair
I've just had this
They debrided and reshaped my Acromion, cleaned up my Supraspinatus tendon (it was roughened apparently) and as my bursa was so thickened they performed a Bursectomy and removed the whole thing.
Ten days on still a 'bit' sore (surprise) BUT nothing like as bad as I feared, out of the sling, I have full range of movement without pain up to shoulder level, some discomfort above shoulder level. I'm having to due ten mins exercise three times a day as part of my rehab.
Early days yet but it's already better than it was pre surgery (the 'sticking point' I had before is now gone) I'll know more when I resume training in a few months time.
