Lara wants GGG

Post by kidbazooka1 »

So far Lara is the only top fighter calling out GGG.

Says he faces GGG and Canelo face Cotto and the winners meet.

I doubt GGG's team wants it.

In one article for the build up of Golovkin-Monroe fight, GGG trainer Abel Sanchez mentioned that Monroe will prepare them for Lara. So I guess Team GGG is looking forward to that clash.

its not even funny the litle boxing knowledge people on this forum have

ony floyd fanboys, who dont know boxing

floyd is the tbe, with his defensive style and moving around, lara prety much does the same and beats as good or even better opponents like williams (robbery, rewatch the fight, anybody who says something else should stop watching boxing), wins against canelo even more impressivly than floyd did (rewatched the highlights, he made canelo miss all day, schooled him and even wobbled him with an left hook), but just because lara isnt such a big talker like floyd, he aint on his level, no way. people realy know sh/()t out here.

now watch the unemployed kbb coming at me in short period of time. he has like a boxrec radar in his head and as soon as somebody says something about floyd, he is in typingmode.

so unfunny, lara has the exact same style and similar athletic ability like floyd, but one is supposed to be tbe and the other is regarded like a journeyman. i judge boxing on what skills somebody brings to the table, on what i see with my own eyes, most people out here arent capable of doing so, they judge simply on gossip crap and crap descision.

back to the thread.

this is one fight that very depends on the weight class where its fought.

at 154 ggg would be dihydrated, and while he would have the power advantage, i dont think ggg's dyhydrated boy would conditionaly keep up with lara footwork for 12 rounds. so ud win for lara in technical fashion. at middleweight a full force ggg is a monster and crashes any man alive, no contest. but it would be a technial challenge for ggg, because lara footwork and boxing basics and hook are world class.

i mean when floyd runs, its "he is the best ever, a defensive genius"

when lara does exactly the same and also runs, than its "boring boxer, he should not be near a p4p top 10"

there you see the 0,0 knowledge of boxing have out here.

let me tell yall something. there are so many overrated boxers on the p4p lists of guys who post out here, like timmy, 0,0 power, loses barely everything or draws. than old marquez, who lets put it clear, the man is old and got 0,0 slickness and not much footwork, he shouldnt be near a p4p top 10. than the absolut debacle, wladimir  , robotic, using illegal tactics, and compared to high quality welterweights just technicly very limited, can just be happy, that he has the luck of having judges on his side and most of his opponents being 1 head smaller than him, he shouldnt be near in a p4p top 10, every of his fights should be a dq loss.

so the same guys who praise timmy, wlad or marquez, than bash legendary boxers like rigondeaux or lara. why do i they legendary. cause those 2 are world class athletic, on another level in terms of footwork, on top they possess power and they beat strong opponents like a prime donaire or paul williams. but get 0 credit, but in the boxing world these guys are legendary.

mayweather
lara
rigondeaux
pacquiao
ggg
kovalev
gonzales
lomachenko
inoue
crawford

this is a mix of what a p4p top 10 should look like!!!

Lara isn't anywhere near the boxer Floyd is. Floyd isn't having close fights with Canelo, going life and death with Angulo, getting the benefit of the doubt in drawing with Molina, or being pushed by Vanes.

Lara is good, but he's been overrated for years and I think he'd be very hesitant to throw if GGG were coming at him.

laras fight with canelo wasnt close, easy win. canelo rarely even hit 1 time lara clear to the head, a bit of body pushes doesnt win you a fight.

he went life and death with angulo because he fought like a man, not like a pu%/y. if lara had fought angulo technicle, like he did against canelo, running circling around and low but precise punch output, than he would have won easily, style make fights. imagine floyd would have brawled with maidana or stand toe to toe, imagine what would have happened.

floyd had a draw with maidana in the first and needed the the ref for the second one
floyd had a close fight with pac, where some even said he did not do enough, basicly saying a draw would have been okay too
also if you want to go that road, castillo beat floyd, now what? castillo isnt like a super legendary boxer. all i am saying is, everybody can have a bad night, regardless of its lara with vanes or floyd with castillo.

its not so much about how you look in fights, its more of what you are capable of and what style you fight. lara is capable of doing the exact same thing floyd is capable of doing. just with the difference, that he naturaly bigger, has longer reach. but in terms of athletic, speed they equal, in terms of power, no contest, lara got more pop than floyd.

also, what is there overrated, a guy who beat paul williams and canelo alvarez, like 2 of the best 154 boxers in a long time? and if you wanna tell me that he lost both fights than we dont need to talk on, because than i realy know you are one of those who know shi/()t. cause i rewatched both fight and it wasnt even close. jones said after the williams descision "there is something wrong with boxing"

Lara didn't easily beat Canelo and he didn't come close to outboxing him like Floyd did. Floyd was also the rightful winner of the first Maidana fight and beat him handily in the rematch, at no point needing generous judging to simply draw as Lara did against Carlos Molina.

I thought Mayweather lost the first Castillo fight, but that Castillo was better than anyone Lara's beaten and the fight was years ago; one doesn't have to go back very far to find Lara scraping to a draw with Molina, being pushed by Vanes, going life and death with Angulo, and of course fairly losing to someone Floyd embarrassed shortly before.

Lara is with Haymon if I recall correctly and GGG is contracted to HBO, so it seems like there are significant obstacles in the way of this bout. If it did happen I wouldn't be surprised to see Lara go into a shell and throw even fewer punches than he did against Canelo.

If Lara's name was Mayweather I guarantee he would have gotten the Canelo decision with similar scores to the two judges that had Floyd winning.

But that's the boxing game pal you should know that by now.

Wow and Floyds whole style is hesitant but I guess you don't see it like that since he's Floyd mayweather right.

Unbelievable.

You can't guarantee that, and if you could it wouldn't change the fact that Mayweather throughly outboxed Canelo (even the 8-4 cards were generous) while Lara didn't. It also wouldn't change the utter lack of evidence that Floyd would be fortunate to draw with someone like Carlos Molina or be dropped multiple times by and forced to fight life and death with someone as limited as Angulo.

Mayweather fights cautiously, but to me he doesn't have the same look of weariness that Lara did against Canelo. While Lara certainly had his moments in that fight he looked bothered when Canelo got close in a way that I don't think Floyd did even in the first Maidana fight; perhaps Lara remembered that he was hurt and put on his ass twice by the limited Angulo and he realized that Canelo was even more dangerous.

Your in denial you know if Laras name was Maywweather he would have gotten that decision fairly decisive.

But if you cant be honest with at least admitting that much then there's no point carrying on this this discussion with you any further.

Several scores for recent Mayweather fights have been generous to his opposition in my opinion, so I'm not convinced that Lara would've beaten Canelo had he been judged in the same manner that Floyd would have if his fight with Canelo played out just as Lara's did.

And regardless of what the scores were or may have been in different circumstances, Floyd handily bested Canelo and Lara didn't. There's also a reason why Floyd hasn't had knockdown-filled life or death fights with people like Angulo or been fortunate to draw with someone on the level of Carlos Molina. I keep repeating this, but it seems that for a large group those aren't considerations when evaluating the absolutely incredible, all-time great, pound for pound superstar, everyone's ducking even though several notable fighters have faced him Lara.

Evaluating the evidence and concluding that Lara isn't on Mayweather's level is rationality, not nut-gobbling. I'm far from a Mayweather fan by the way and I was disappointed that he clearly beat Manny.

Returning to the thread's topic, aren't there significant political obstacles to GGG-Lara? If there are and those were overcome I think that GGG would break down a timid Lara and eventually force a stoppage.

Lara always talks about GGG sais he wants to fight him.. I would love to see the fight made but only at 160 pounds.. I doubt Lara wants TripleG at 160 he would get crushed, He just speaks his name to remain relevant.

Also there are the problems between Haymon/Hbo Fighter. Idk how the fight will be made..

September Golovkin Vs Lara at 160 sounds very good though

I know Lara said before he would fight GGG at 160. Good fight, and interesting style-wise. We have to remember GGG has seen all styles in the amateurs, and I believe did beat the slick Andre Dirrell? Maybe they each had a win...can't remember. If GGG does well and has an easy night his next fight, he will fight Lara no problem.

In the meantime, why doesn't Lara take on the other guy at his weight with a belt that has been calling him out? Andrade. Lara laughs that one off, saying he already beat that arse in the amateurs. (8 yrs ago) Might be a different story now.

Floyd, Lara and Rigo...you know, the main Cuban Boxers today, are too boring to be tying up Main Events these days. No one wants to see a track meet anymore. GGG will see how frustrating it is fighting a sprinter in a couple of weeks.

I'd love to see GGG, Canelo, Lemieux and Cotto in a tourney style mixer. GGG vs Lemieux, Cotto vs Canelo....winner's face off for the lineal championship of the world. No one will walk in the ring with track shoes or throw more tap left jabs than power punches. This would fill in that pathetic hole that Floyd and Manny dug last weekend. Then we'd see some real boxing were someone may even get hurt in the fight...imagine that? a boxing match in which one person or both actually get a bruise or maybe some blood from his lip or something.

Someone needs to make up for that debacle

generous to his opponents

floyd can be lucky he didnt get dq with all the excessive holding. he can be happy he had bayless paid out in the rematch who never let maidana box from inside.

If Gennady was given a multi-million dollar offer, I bet he would go down for Canelo or Cotto.

There is no point of Lara calling GGG out at any weight unless Haymon is on board with him fighting on HBO and HBO approves Lara after how he boxed with Canelo.

Regardless of the boxing politics with Haymon, HBO et al. Erislandy Lara v Gennady Golovkin would be a fantastic match up and one I have said on here previously I would like to see. As you have two very technically gifted fighters with very contrasting styles in the athletic counter puncher in Lara and the powerful and clinical Golovkin.

Lara would now that Golovkin will come force the fight so I expect he will sit back lay traps to counter Golovkin with right hooks off the southpaw jab to the head lefts to the body to try and stem the tide. But making sure he keeps off the ropes and making sure he doesn't get pinned in the corners. While Golovkin would need to mix the jab up between head and chest to slow Lara down and work the straight right hand off it. Outcome. An entertaining back and forth fight but Golvokin ulitmately stops Lara late.

The only thing Lara did when he fought Canelo is prove just how great Floyd is.

I always laugh at the folks who prop what Lara did against Canelo, yet try to say Floyd ran when he faced Saul.

Mayweather stood right in front of the young lion most of the night, walking him down quite often.

Lara ran.

With that being said, I would love for Erislandy to get his shot at GGG.

But, it won't happen.

No way they risk Golovkin looking bad against a guy who is naturally smaller, and Lara can make anyone look bad, even as he loses.

I hope it happens but I would bet a bunch that it wont.
