David Price vs. Alexander Ustinov

I agree that Ustinov would be his best win and to me this is the type of fight Price should be in; the opponent isn't a pushover but it's very winnable and represents a step-forward.

Also, though Ustinov importantly doesn't seem as durable as Wach he did receive a prolonged beating from Pulev before going down and I don't believe he was knocked out in his lengthy career as a top kickboxer, so I think that he takes a decent shot. He also shook Pulev with a right hand in I believe the 8th round, and while not a big puncher he doesn't need to be to hurt Price. Price is much more skilled than Ustinov, but how will he cope if the big Belarusian takes some good shots and is still throwing right hands at him? This bout is interesting in many of the ways that Wach-Price would've been, and due to his weaknesses there is a built-in tension to Price fights against these types of opponents.

I never expected the Wach fight to happen, too dangerous, but I'm a still a bit surprised Price has accepted Ustinov. There is still a lot of risk though.

Still give Ustinov a good chance. Hell, I would give Peter Ustinov a chance vs that glass chin, and he's an actor who's been dead 11 years.

Maybe Price did a Fury and shat himself when he see Ustinov had trained! Fury would beat any version of Ustinov easily so never understood why he seemed rattled that he had come to fight in good shape.

Ustinov would have been a dangerous fight for Price, but one he should be winning that's for sure. Ustinov doesn't carry the sort of power his record suggests he might do.

If it really is Scott up next then Price knocks him out early doors. It's a step up from his recent opposition but hardly mouth watering.

Scott is actually better than Ustinov in my opinion and in most people's eyes he deserved a win over Wlad's IBF mandatory Glazkov. I think he's roughly a top 25 HW and a win over him would very likely be a career-best for Price, not to mention that while Scott has good skills he doesn't have much power, his workrate is fairly low, and I don't think he's particularly durable. While Wach seemed like someone with the attributes to trouble Price and people rightly questioned the logic of that matchmaking, Scott seems like someone who is well-suited for Price to succeed against.

I'd be more interested in Price-Ustinov but Scott is a respectable opponent for Price.

Yeah Scott is the best decent-ish opponent for Price to continue a winning run. Cunningham might be winnable for him too. Sooner or later he's going to run out of powder-puff choices and will have to take a more difficult fight. I can't see any obvious 'paydays' as such; I can't really see him getting into a position to fight Wlad and somehow I can't imagine Wilder risking his unbeaten record against that punch, so it's unclear exactly what Price's path will be at this stage. Seems that he won't be in much of a position to turn down fights that come his way.

Sorry for the late reply! Allegedly have now contracted Ustinov trying force the bout to be shown on their channel...ultimately taking the fight away from Price! Therefore Scott could be in the pipeline for late June!

To be fair to Fury (and most weren't at the time, including myself) there were clearly extenuating circumstances with his family & his head must have been all over the place.

Don't see how thats warrens fault, Ustinov signed the contract he and his team would have been aware of this. Why are boxers and their teams so willing to negate on contracts and then people blame anyone else.

I think Tyson is the best value fighter, outside of the ring ( and potentially in it, game as anything...maybe ), in the game. Funny chap. Frustrating seeing him never fighting anyone who offers much of a threat though. He is too good for the opponents he has faced, generally speaking of course, Big John beat him early doors in his career, but Fury silenced that one in the rematch. I think it leaves him woefully under prepared for Wlad as we will see ( hopefully! Not as in I hope he gets splattered, as in I hope the fight happens )

Horse stalks me for Fury comments I think he quite likes him and his team.
