I met Mike in Essex at one of his chats, i blagged a photo opportunity with him that i hadn't paid for and as such didn't get the resulting pic (although i did try to get a copy). All i could do was utter the words, Mike your a legend. He smiled and seemed very soft natured. He had ballooned in weight and his hands were like huge pillows. He was great on the stage and seemed like a changed man. i.e. calm and less aggressive. I explained to people the next day how he seemed a changed man, then on the Monday he punched a reporter in the face for invading his privacy!! made me look a right tit!!
Seriously, I'd probably ask Calzaghe for info on his running routes, and then fire up Google Earth for a gander. He ran his hills, that one. I'd happily chat to most advocates of old-school training.
(Modern methods are better, but I enjoy hearing about the character-building stuff. Nigel Mansell once buggered his legs during a run by swerving all over the shop down a potholed lane.)

I'd call Randall Tex Cobb. I don't know what I would ask him but I'm pretty sure his answer would be well worth the cost of the call.
