Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
First off, i'm a huge fan of GGG and think that's he's so great for boxing. His talent and power are ridiculous regardless of the lack of skill lining up to sign contracts to fight him.
I knew very little about Willie Monroe Jr when this fight was signed so I watched some fights online to try to get a feel for what kind of fight we'd be getting. After watching this kid, I'm officially worried about this fight for GGG. Willie has fast hands and super movement with endless stamina. I don't think that this fight is going to be crowd pleasing by any means because Willie sometimes sprints in the ring but he's got a style that will give GGG the toughest test to date IMO. Willie is too fast and fancy on his feet to cut off the ring on and with GGG's deficiency defensively, i can see Willie banking some rounds on GGG.
Willie has a 4" reach advantage, 5 years younger and a Southpaw who is very selective with his punches. Add the elusive factor and GGG has got a tough night ahead of him. GGG is my favorite boxer right now but i've got a real bad feeling tonight boys. I think GGG may lose this one. PREDICTION: Willie Monroe JR by split decision.

I laughed. Everyone is dissing Wilder for fighting Molina.
GGG vs Monroe is arguably even a bigger joke.

Molina is ranked No.44 in the world By Boxrec and was Knocked out in 1 round against ARREOLA, the Fat bum who lost to Stiverne who lost to WILDER..Tony1244 wrote:I laughed. Everyone is dissing Wilder for fighting Molina.

Willie is ranked No.17 in the world by boxrec, has only 1 split decision loss against a guy that Knocked down Ward and lost to a Split decision against Kovalev and also KO'ed Stevenson..
Get out of here hater, state some facts and then come back if u wanna talk seriously.

Oh, you want facts? Monroe has only 6 KOs in 20 fights. If you can't break an egg with a bat, you're not a threat to GGG.
You're hating on Arreola, who is at least exciting enough to be unpredictable.

So with your logic Andre ward also poses Zero threat against Golovkin, because he has just 1 KO in 9 world title fights, and that KO came against a drained skeleton fighter.. You just made my day with your idiotic comments.Tony1244 wrote:Aaronide_ger wrote:Molina is ranked No.44 in the world By Boxrec and was Knocked out in 1 round against ARREOLA, the Fat bum who lost to Stiverne who lost to WILDER..Tony1244 wrote:I laughed. Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
I think Monroe might pose a few early problems with his movement and length. Could be a good lead in opponent for G3, if Lara is next. In the end though, Monroe will be worn down, and that is assuming he has a good beard. Fight could end on the first good clean punch for all we know. I suspect thought that Monroe won't have the power nor can keep up the movement for 12 rounds, so eventually he will get stopped.
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
Ward is definitely not stopping Gennady. I doubt that he can outscore him either.Aaronide_ger wrote:So with your logic Andre ward also poses Zero threat against Golovkin, because he has just 1 KO in 9 world title fights, and that KO came against a drained skeleton fighter.. More importantly, comparing Monroe to significantly more skilled and bigger Ward is just laughable.

Comparing Andre Ward with Willie Monroe Jr. is the PhD of idiocy. Have you checked the GGG-Monroe odds? Ward's KO rate is over 50%. Monroe's is about 30%. That's a fairly big difference, perhaps you need to brush up on your remedial math. Also, Ward's last 7 opponents or so, have been the crème de la crème of the division(s). Abraham and Froch are quite good. Monroe's opponents? Not so much.
If Monroe wins or it's even a close fight, I will say I was wrong. If GGG owns him, you'll run like the wind.

Yep. It will take a miracle for Monroe will need a miracle to just be competitive.
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
It is an interesting match just because Monroe brings different style then other GGG opponents. It interesting to see how Golovkin copes with slick defensive fighter. That said, I dont see Monroe winning. He might run his way through the first half of the fight but eventually he will succumb to the pressure. I expect mid to late round stoppage.
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
Monroe does look ripped. How does he manage to be so feather-fisted ? Bad punching technique ?

Tony1244 wrote:I disagree with that statement, Monroe has great boxing skills. The question isn't whether or not Monroe can hang with GGG, the question about Monroe is; does he have the goods to hurt GGG and a superior enough defense and movement to stop Golovkin from being able to KO him?
Looks like I was spot on about last night's fight, hate to say I told you so.

Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
In 400 odd amateur fights GGG has seen and dealt with pretty much everything this guy will be a good workout for him but not a serious threat.
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
Technique probably has something to do with it, but being muscular doesn't always mean you can punch; Steve Cunningham and Tim Bradley both look scary as fornicate on the scales but aren't really big punchers.ikorolev wrote:Monroe does look ripped. Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
Everything Monroe throws is slow, pitty-pat arm punches. He doesn't throw with speed or authority at all.ikorolev wrote:Monroe does look ripped. How does he manage to be so feather-fisted ? Bad punching technique ?
Also, disregard comparisons to Timothy Bradley and Steve Cunningham. They actually punch like boxers. Monroe is one of the most delicate punchers of all time. It's like he genuinely doesn't want his opponent to even know that the punches are landing.

How much of your time did you waste writing that nonsense?
He's got no shot.

Does that include the time I spent watching footage of Monroe? Because that makes a difference. The answer is either 1 minute or 3 minutes.diddy wrote:Lackeos,

Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
I've not seen Monroe box, the boxing news preview said he's fast and skilled, having been a top US amateur, I imagine he'd do well v another champ but Golovkin hits so hard and looks to be improving all the time. I hope Monroe puts up a good fight, there are other middleweights who would not get in the ring with Golovkin.
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
I've not seen Munroe fight, he may well have terrible technique, so I wasn't comparing them. I was just commenting on the general principle that build doesn't always tell you if someone is a puncher.Lackeos wrote:Everything Monroe throws is slow, pitty-pat arm punches. Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
...I just hope this Monroe guy thinks more of defense, gets to the final bell uninjured with a decent paycheck...
Re: Don't Laugh...GGG will lose tonight...
I'd be very surprised if Monroe pulled this off. Monroe has only 6 KOs and that's against mostly limited opposition. It's not as though GGG has a reputation for fading late in fights either. We all agree that Molina is not an inspired choice. But Molina has a bit of a punch. These are something like 15-1 or more fight odds, and of course we all like more evenly matched bouts.KBB wrote:I disagree with that statement, Monroe has great boxing skills. The Wilder fight is the joke between the two. I wouldn't be surprised if Monroe pulls off the upset because I did see moments in some of GGG's fights where he was being caught with clean shots and was evaded but the difference between GGG and let's say a guy like Packy is that Golovkin knows how to cut off the ring and force his opponent's into either exchanging with him or taking a beating.

It's not just about being able to run, it's more about being to hit with enough force to make the guy trying to chase you down hesitate for a split second.caldo2025 wrote:First off, i'm a huge fan of GGG and think that's he's so great for boxing. Or, Monroe Jr could be like Cory Spinks, and we could have a better fight than we expect.
