How much ppv buys would your favourite fantasy fight have made?

Post by Chepppaaa »

in 2015, so todays time! meaning with all the advantages of worldwide media, internet, broadcaster, networks etc.

floyd mayweather vs manny pacquiao made 4,4 mill, just for comparison to your fantasy fight.

mine would be félix trinidad vs thomas hearns @154 and i think it would make like 2,3.

what your fantasy fight and how much ppv buys would it make?

Clones of Mike Tyson and Joe Louis are raised from birth to fight each other in their primes. It does one quadrillion buys (fvck the rules, my fantasy takes place way in the future when we've already been in contact with aliens for a while and are living in an intergalactic community with countless other intelligent lifeforms who happen to enjoy boxing and have an understanding of its history on earth).
edit: Instead of TV, the PPV would bring Tyson and Louis into your living room as life-sized holograms fighting each other.

Duran vs Chavez

If Canelo is big right now just imagine how humongous Chavez sr would have been in 2015.

Not only would it have broken all records it would have lived up to the hype no doubt.

Duran by DEC in an instant classic.

with the legendary status chavez had and duran being super famous also, it would surely made something around 4-5, similar to floyd pac i guess.

good thread and some great shouts.

Leonard vs Mayweather has to be a blockbuster in any language, those guys can sell. Clearly wouldn't be as fun as duran vs chavez. But on sales, those guys would sell the Arse off this.

Tyson vs Ali

a card like this would make much more buys than 5,5

if floyd-pac with an bullshi&/t card makes 4,6, than ali-tyson with such an amazing card would make around 20 million buys (ali vs tyson alone would make around 10)

okay, lets go, here is my dreamcard

main event

roy jones jr - sugar ray robinson @160

undercard

mike tyson - cassius clay @un
felix trinidad - thomas hearns @154
sugar ray leonard - sugar shane mosley @147
manny pacquiao - julio cesar chavez @135
edwin valero - roberto duran @135
guillermo rigondeaux - prince nassem hamed @122
gennady golovkin - arthur abraham @160
marvin hagler - julian jackson @160

estimated ppv buys: 25 million

 25 Million Ppv buys eh? Not happening. Be a little realistic

main event

roy jones jr - sugar ray robinson @160 the 2 best boxers ever going at it, around 5-6

undercard

mike tyson - cassius clay @un this one alone does around 10 mill
felix trinidad - thomas hearns @154 around 3-4
sugar ray leonard - sugar shane mosley @147 around 5
manny pacquiao - julio cesar chavez @135 one has an island behind his back, one a whole country, easily around 3-4 million
edwin valero - roberto duran @135 around 1,5
guillermo rigondeaux - prince nassem hamed @122 around 1,5
gennady golovkin - arthur abraham @160 around 1
marvin hagler - julian jackson @160 around 1,3

over 20 mill, no problem

do you realise what this card would give to overall people?

usa, mexico, phillipines, panama, puerto rico, 5 entire countrys of fans would be behind that card.

the us casual fans would be all over ali-tyson and leonard-mosley. boxing experts would be all over the most skilled boxer ever robinson and jones.

the most talked about fight of this generation only interrested phillipines, black hip hop people and some casual fans. worldwide that fight did not play much of a role, as nobody knows either pacquiao or mayweather, not in europe, not in africa or russia or australia.

do you know how famous ali and tyson were, back than, without internet? muhammad ali is often listed as #1 or #2 behind jordan as great athlete ever. ali was a worldwide mega star, floyd is not 1 third of ali in terms of recognition and fan appeal, everybody worldwide want to watch ali box, no matter if it was usa or europe. same goes for tyson, no matter if it was germany, usa, uk, everybody wanted tyson because of his style. tyson, ali are along the athletes known as most famous athetes worldwide ever, along with guys like maradona, messi or federer. pacquiao and floyd dont come close to that kind of hype. ali and tyson with today internet and tyson koing people left and right, prime ali being as athletic and skilled as he was, than his trask talking skills, i mean, easily 10 million buys.

than you got that undercard, chavez was a god in his country, millions would watch him to fight somebody like pacquiao.

trinidad has whole puerto rico behind him, same for manny with phillipines or duran with panama...i mean, this card, the whole world would watch, it would be like a football world championchip, where like 3 billion people watch r olympics hahaha

Are you frigging kidding me? I couldn't look at international news headlines without reading about Mayweather-Paquiao for the past couple of months.

That aside, I don't think you have a great sense of perspective on how Ali was generally perceived at the time, or any idea how many people are actually in the Philippines as compared to Puerto Rico or Panama, or how much money Floyd Mayweather makes or .........well this whole post was kind of absurd, even for you.
