Guzman has been a killer at Super Bantam, but he has no pedigree at Feather, and Harrison is a massive featherweight, he's really a light welterweight come fight night. Harrison also has a good chin, so if Guzman doesn't stop him there's hardly any shame in that.

Maybe but Harrison really wants it and Guzman's his mandatory and doesn't want to be called a coward. Plus he doesn't want to be accused of protecting Harrison and if he didn't deliver, Harrison would go elsewhere.

This is quite clear cut who'll win. The only way it's not is if Harrison is still on his feet come 8th round, Guzman'll prob. tire like he usually does and the judges steal the decision from Guzman.


Guzman's gunna win this fight. If he doesn't, I don't ever wanna hear from this man again.

(Unless the decision was a robbery or it was a Cas-Cor 1)

How can it be clear cut when Guzman has proved nothing at featherweight. I'm not saying he won't win, he may well if he boxes more rather than standing and trading, but I don't share your confidence in it being so clear cut, because Although Guzman is a dangerous fighter and Super Bantam champ, he's not proven himself at top level at featherweight.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Harrison lose this. Often at top level you need more than just a size advantage, the out-weighed Guzman might not find it as hard going as some think.

If Guzman wins a close fight I would be quite disappointed. Guzman should KO/TKO the guy but he's talkin' about how he doesn't want to use his power as much anymore...

From 118-HW, there isn't a guy you can name that has been more ducked than GUZMAN.

Everyone at 122 ducked him. PEople at 126 ducked him. All the big name around the weight divison could have fought him (Except Morales) but declined. These includes JMM, Pacquiao and to a lesser extent, MAB (But it makes sense why MAB didn't since Oscar De La Hoya calls Guzman "The best FW in the world" and wants to co-promote him).

Only reason why the dang man hasn't "proved" himself is because no one has given him a chance to. The so-called "big names" or near-"Bignames" don't wanna fight him.*.

Maloney didn't want Harrison to fight Guzman but da Scott ain't wearyin' no skirt.

Well that's as maybe, I will take your word for it, however there's two schools of thought on this. Is someone ducking someone just because they don't fight them?

I mean Morales, Barrera Morales and Pacquai have all been fighting one another at one point or another, not like they've feasted on soft touches their whole career.

You will have to give me some slack as to my knowledge not ONE of Guzman's fights has been shown over here, so it's not exactly easy to follow his career.

My point however stands, whether he has been ducked or not is not the issue, he still hasn't proven he can hang with the bigger boys at Featherweight. That may not be his fault, but it remains hypothetical whether or not he would have beaten any of the men at the top of the pile as he hasn't fought him.

I can tell you've got a hard on for Guzman (in the metaphorical sense, I hope), and I've heard a lot of good things. However, as I've seen nothing to prove that he has the goods at Feather, I still think this is a pickem fight.

Sky showed Guzman vs Some Argie on a Calzaghe undercard (TKO3) and his UD over Joe Morales on another undercard about a year ago.

Another point here, Guzman's also a bit taller than Scott I believe to go along with his skills. One thing that is for sure though, this will be an entertaining fight. Guzman usually comes out trying to take his opponents head off and Scott's not at all hard to hit. Someones going down. If Guzman trains hard for this fight, I believe its his to lose. Scott should focus on a body attack and look for a late stoppage, or he'll look quite the fool...

One thing. I don't believe the big guys at feather where avoiding Guzman as much as they where just too busy fighting each other. The guys who where really avoiding him where Larios and co at superbantam, I think Guzman would have mutilated Larios, its just a horrible style matchup...

Yet another thing. While Guzman is really aggressive and a thudding puncher. He does his real damage with counter shots. He'll attack, then wait in the pocket for his opponent to fire back then launch huge haymakers in the opening. He also has a very powerful jab. He really should beat Scott, his inactivity will no doubt hurt him though. I'll be interested in the odds for this fight...

Im not really a fan of Scott Harrison im going off him, he weight issue is a big thing and i think it need to be sorted that shit aint good for the body, he should fight at his natural weight.

In his fight against A.Sanchez, Guzman was only a 2-1 fav!!! That was EZ MONEY!!!

Has to be a load of crap about JMM, Morales and PacMan ducking Guzman - this trio have been taking on every killer on the block for the last few years - no way would any of them have cold feet about meeting Guzman.

The Pacquiao camp immediate dismissed Guzman and took Clair...

When The Pacquiao-JMM broke, Guzman jumped on both of them and said he would step in and fight either of them as a replacement. JMM's trainer/manager, Ignacio Beristain, when question about Guzman being JMM's opponent, "There's no point" and said he wanted his fighter to fight Vasquez instead. He ended up fighting Orlando Salido. (As reported by http://www.BS.com) Guzman also said that he would give RM a shot at his WBO title if he were to move up to 122 but of course that wasn't happenin' either.

Duckin'? No. The Duckin' occurred at JrFW. But they sure passed up on fighting Guzman to fight lesser opponents.

On MAB...

Here's something interesting...

After the Morales fight, he was lookin' for an opponent...

Guzman again jumped and basically said, "Me me I'll fight you I'll fight you and beat you." Guzman was arguably the best fighter that MAB could ahve fought but the MAB camp just shrugged the request off and they decided to fight Mzonke Fana.

MABs promoter is Golden Boy...

The same Golden Boy that flat out had Larios duck Guzman also shrugged on Guzmans willingness to fight MAB.

What's interesting in this case is that Oscar De La Hoya just recently came out and said Guzman is the best FW in the world and that he wants to co-promote Guzman.
