I know Golovkin said he can make 154 but I'm sure Alvarez would like to become a 2 weight champ,in saying that Canelo might go into a fight with GGG as WBC champ assuming he fights and beats Cotto

You're being more than a little obtuse with that comment Horse, you clearly stated:

With that comment you YOURSELF tacitly imply that Froch, Hopkins, Ward, Cotto, Alvarez have shown NO desire to face GGG.

THUS Lara is 'probably' the 'best' of the second tier contenders who COULD face GGG.

I thought you might be implying that Lara is as good as anyone Golovkin could fight regardless of whether they are interested or not.

I can't see a Canelo fight too soon, I think the mexicans management will get his a couple more fights first. And see if he grows to middle, or they might come forward with a catchweight fight. Golovkin has already stated that he might be able to get down to light middle if the really big fights were there,, i i think he would be best just above that weight.

I'm fed up waiting. This guy had 350 amatuer fights, winning 345, he has been a pro for 9 years now, he is 33 & 0 with 30 KO's having stopped his last 20 opponents in a row. He's 33 years old, if he cant get Cotto or Canelo next he must move up to SuperMiddle.

Enoughs really is enough, he must fight elite names now, no excuses. Monroe Jr was 100/1 against going into last nights fight FFS!

They said afterwards that they pretty much carried Monroe to give the fans something to watch after the Rubio blowout. If he'd blown him away, the next mediocre opponent would have been very hard to shift tickets for.

I don't believe that at all, you don't 'let' someone back in to a fight, it's just too risky even against a light puncher like Munroe. GGG's post fight interview was cringe worthy, what utter drivel talking about giving Munroe a chance to provide 'drama' for the fans. Try doing that against a puncher and see what happens.

Carlos Monzon and Marvin Hagler both spent their entire careers at their natural weight (Monzon was offered Bob Foster/Hagler was offered Michael Spinks) perhaps Golovkin wants to do the same.

Because he has never fouht an elite opponent and other than Cotto there is no elite fighters at middleweight for him to fight. The Cotto fight may never happen, and something tells me Canelo's team are in no rush to fight him. What then, the Andy Lee's and Peter Quillins of the world? And even tfights with those guys are not gauranteed. Other than Cotto/Canelo there is NOTHING at middleweight for him.

Dont forget, it was Golovkin and his team who said they would take on anyone from 154 to 168. Its time to deliver on that promise now.

There was no supermiddle option for Monzon & Hagler, just a long leap to light-heavy, I don't know if he can carry the weight at 168, because he seems a little on the small side even at 160, but there's bugger all left for him at that weight really, and Canelo is going to be steering clear I think...I think if hes going to be a real superstar he's going to have to take the gamble and move up from his natural division, just like Floyd did.
