In terms of perceived competitiveness and combined skill...

Thoughts?

I think that it would be a great fight while it lasted. Given the power, skill and undefeated records it could go either way although I would take the 43 - 0 guy.

It's hard to go against Inoue because he's proving himself over and over again but Gonzalez is a beast and he just keeps coming no matter what he gets hit with.

I hope they make this fight, from what I've seen of Gonzalez's fights he appears like he's in the zone and it will take a sure fire fighter to bring him out of it.

Great fight. I'd go with Inoue if I had to pick.

Best fight since Carbajal vs. Chiquita 1.

But you'd have to lure Inoue out of Japan for it to happen.

Inoue doesn't have to be lured out of anywhere. He is the champion in the division above. If Gonzalez wants to beat the best he is the one who has to travel to Japan.

Yeah...it's not like Gonzalez has never fought in Japan before...heck it's not like his main promoter is a Japanese outfit...

...as for it happening, Gonzalez has apparently said he wants to make at least 2 more Flyweight defenses before talking to Teiken so it'll be next year at the very earliest.

Absolutely loved watching Gonzalez get the HBO treatment. I'd pay to watch Gonzalez-Inoue no matter where in the world it happens.

And if Inoue wants to become a true boxing superstar, not just a guy that only the hardcore fans know and treasure, he'll have to spread his wings and travel west to the U.S. of A.

Nestled in the safety of his home country, he may become a legend among the Japanese, but eventually he'll need the spotlight of America to become an international icon.

You are always wrong about everything SenorPoopoo! He doesn't have to leave Japan. The U.S.A. is not the center of the world for the lower weight guys. Inoue will do what he wants. If Gonzalez wants to beat the best guy at the next higher weight he will have to go through Inoue. End of discussion!

Gonzalez was seen by 1 million US fans this past weekend, Inoue was seen by around 8 million Japanese fans against Narvaez... Hmmm...

(international audiences for both men are likely impossible to get a good gauge on either way)

Inoue vs Gonzalez would be a nice fight that is for sure! I think Inoue still needs to polish his game though and imo for Inoue. it would be a pretty hard defeat to take
