About the essence of what he said: it is ridiculous to think that Gennady would fight Ward of a punching version of Monroe the same way he fought yesterday. He was easily outboxing Monroe in the first two rounds landing a great left hook which Monroe didn't even see due to Gennady's craftiness. The crowd pleasing way of fighting after the second round was his choice, not limitation.

The same way, as Brut and Pipi were wrong predicting Hopkins to school Kovalev, they are wrong predicting anybody to expose Golovkin. As soon as those "greater fighters" will stop hiding and finding reasons to avoid GGG, everybody will see how skilled he is.

He has a couple of great fighters (Ward and Lara) that want to fight him but he is unwilling to move to either weight class to fight them but readily accepts moving to 154 for a Floyd fight while ducking Erislandy.

Moving down in weight to fight a fighter who doesn't bring a fraction of the pay as Mayweather, and stinks up the joint. Not to mention just lost his next to last bout. Lara hasn't really made a big name for himself or brings the money. Why drop out of your class for that? If Lara wants G bad enough, he can move up.

Based on the most recent perfromances I think in regards to P4P Floyd and GGG are miles apart. Floyd put on a BOXING clinic whilst GGG seemed to be below par, getting tagged more often than I have seen previously. GGG is great for the sport, he's entertaimning and very likeable and he's Ko'ing people which the masses want to see. However I think he is a way off Floyd in regards to P4P, for now!!

OK, let's put this into perspective. Lara calling out GGG to come down to 154 is on par with Mauricio Herrera calling out Mayweather to come down to 140 for a fight. Do you really think a reasonable fan would accuse Floyd of ducking if he stated he would only drop down to 140 for the biggest challenge that brought in the most money?

The stone cold truth is GGG isnt fighting Ward until he cashes in at least one of those doozy Canelo - Cotto paydays. If he fights Ward and predictably loses (which he would) it would crush him at the bargaining table with Canelo and Cotto. His team isnt about to let that happen until he makes the real $ fighting at least 1 of those guys I mentioned. As for Lara, that fight is way, way too high risk/low reward for GGG. That's another fight that will absolutely never happen until he cashes in with a Canelo or Cotto cash cow first.

I don't think he'd ''school'' him, in that I don't think it would be easy and one sided.

But I do think he'd win. As always though I have to add the disclaimer, if he is the same fighter upon his return.

Now you should also add "if he can still comfortably make 168".

I don't know, I mean he wasn't a huge supper middle. But yeah, should he have gained significant mass that would certainly be a potential factor.

No he doesn't, nor is that in keeping with the p4p status, GGG would stop Floyd easily but you'd have to factor in the major size discrepancy. P4P is about skill regardless of size. GGG is the full package, Floyd on the other hand is way past his prime to the point of having zero offense, he's pretty much Hopkins.
