Protect yourself at all times. Could have been a good fight. Perez must really be pissed at himself now.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
Povetkin fought around with Charr for what? 6 rounds? Then he didn't look too good against Takam, until the the 2nd half. I expected Perez to be stopped in the 2nd half after leading, but damn... that was quick! Can't wait for Povetkin vs Wilder. Someone is going down!

Who needs 10 million when you can have coveted PBC title against deadbeat Cunningham or Arreola, on the network TV no less.cold187 wrote:lol yeah when the russians win purse bid od £20m, wilder will vacate like quillinTarkus wrote:High time for Wilder to vacate the title.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
It was strange because Perez got many strong punches from Abdusalamov or Takam and never get down.
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
I doubt it. They probably build this fight up. There is a reason that ESPN picked this fight up to show to the American public.cold187 wrote:lol yeah when the russians win purse bid od £20m, wilder will vacate like quillinTarkus wrote:High time for Wilder to vacate the title.
The interesting thing will be the purse bid. Haymon vs Ridiculous Russian Bid Guy

On another thread I said I thought Povetkin would probably outwork Perez, but that I couldn't see him stopping him.
So, yeah.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
Right, I misspoke. Perez is a southpaw, and he needs to know perfectly well how to avoid right hands.handsofstone wrote:Freedom2013 wrote:Povetkin isn't a southpaw.ikorolev wrote:Where is that f4cking Cuban school ? Didn't Perez know he was fighting a southpaw ?
Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
This fight = wtf? Like, I mean... what the f*cK? What was that? Perez was practically knocked out from punch #1. That was one of the most surreal fights that I've seen recently.

Wilder will do fine vs Povetkin. He needs fights like that to prove himself. 50/50 but I would pick Wilder. His jab will control the distance, hopefully.

Re: Alexander Povetkin vs. Mike Perez: who will win?
Emphasis on hopefully there if you're a Wilder fan. Despite 34 fights, we still have no idea if Wilder will do "fine" against Povetkin. Stiverne is a harder puncher, but he is also very lazy. Povetkin tends to fight to the level of his opponent, and that has led to some sloppy and out of shape past performances. Povetkin is a LEGIT top five heavyweight. We have no idea if Wilder is.Badhusker wrote:Tarkus wrote:High time for Wilder to vacate the title.
