Yedras Vs Tanaka, who you got?
This weekend Julian Yedras (24-1, 13) and Kosei Tanaka (4-0, 2) will battle for the WBO Minimumweight title, but who you picking?
Tanaka comes in to this bout looking to break the Japanese national record of fewest fights to win a world title whilst Yedras is looking for his first win outside of Mexico. They are the WBO #1 (Yedras) and #2 (Tanaka) and it's worth noting that Yedras's only loss has come to Carlos Buitrago, a man many feel should be unbeaten. Tanaka's best win to date came last time out when he stopped Ryui Hara in a super-sonic game of chess.

Yedras has been hand-picked. He has about as much chance of winning as it does of snowing in Aichi on May 30th.
Well, maybe a little bit less.

Yedras is perfect for Tanaka to look good. I think this is almost a formality. Tanaka just has to resist trading and stick to the gameplan of moving, staying at distance and using that straight punch arsenal with quick in and out movement like his footwork can produce.

I'm not familiar with Yedras, but is there any way he can draw Tanaka in like Hara did and maybe outwork him?TheBeast wrote:Yedras is perfect for Tanaka to look good. Tanaka has a 5cm reach. Interesting to read that Yedras has the heart rate of a marathon runner. Could be a long afternoon for Kosei.

After being pummeled for a few rounds by Tanaka, Yedras will probably wish he had stayed in Mexico to run a couple marathons.

Clear win by Tanaka, showed some flaws, did 12 rounds, lots of positives to take away from the but some things to work on...
