Khan will stop Algieri

Post by hulkmaniac »

Don't tell me Algieri will hear the final bell just because he survived Pacquiao and Provodnikov's attacks. Khan doesn't have to hit as hard as them to stop the "Fighting Collegiate" or whatever the hell he calls himself these days. Speed kills. Khan wants to make a statement in this fight and he's going for the kill.

this fight is a potential bananaskin for khan. its precisely when khan goes in for the kill , that he ends up getting ko'd.
algieri is tall, quite fast himself, and has plently of gas in the tank to fight on the back foot under pressure. he also throws some fast punches from strange angles ...that are more than capable of landing on khans chin. this is supposed to be an easy fight for khan, which just puts more pressure on for the need to get a ko. algieri has been in with 3 good fighters in his last 3 fights , and although he,s been knocked down , he got back up and showed heart and stamina to finish the fght on his feet, against bigger punchers than khan. hes also quite intelligent and can stick to a plan, which is more than can be said for khan at times.

iwill be hoping that an eager to impress khan will run onto a well praticed wild punch from algieri, and we can watch khan do his stuff on the dancefloor. khan is the guy with the history of being stopped, not algieri.

I can see this going similar to Khan/Malignaggi. If Khan gets the KO, it will not be a surprise.

I don't think that Khan under Virgil Hunter will either look for or force a stoppage; I think he'll look to win every round without putting himself in danger ala Floyd.

I fancy Khan to stop Algieri too,as tough as Chris is,Pacquiao should've got him out of there,Manny's lost a little of that killer instinct but I think Amir will be too sharp and fresh for him

Algieri is a former champ and can fight but Khan is a level above him and I expect Khan to finish the job Pacquiao couldn't

Khan vs Algieri is a nothing fight. Algieri is a 140 lber with limited experience in the pros (in fact the pros is his only boxing experience). Khan says Algieri is dangerous and an elite ("A" class) fighter? BS to hype the fight, and make people forget he ducked much better competition. He could have earned a fight with Floyd with a better opponent, and one that is actually a welterweight, but he will once again be a laughing stock.

He will do the same shit he did against Collazo, make the guy look like a dick, not a mug, a so so performance and thus hopefully for Amir get his pay day with Floyd which he will lose/draw or Pac, which he will win.

It will be interesting to see if John David Jackson makes any difference in Algieri's performance for this one. I know that this site loves to hate Khan but I really have enjoyed watching this guy fight through his career. Not a huge fan of his mouth or his bloated opinion of himself but I like those fighters that are one punch away from losing a fight like Khan. He's got great skills but that chin...that chin is the equalizer and there's nothing better than watching Khan get knocked down and plead with the ref that he's alright while his eyes are crossed and his body sways back and forth like a drunk.

I think that this is the end of the road for Algieri though. He's made some great coin for a kick boxer turned boxer with a good head on his shoulders and desires to pursue other professions. Pretty impressive when you think about it. But I'd bet for the KO in this one. When was the last time Khan's been in with a guy with softer hands? Never. Khan get go for broke like he's not been able to do in most of his fights. That spells big trouble for Algieri. KO in 7th-Khan. Easy work.

Khan first gave Mayweather a "deadline" in January. He had loads of time to line up a good fight against a quality welterweight. Porter, Brook, Bradley, Thurman - all wanted a fight with him. Who does he choose? Come on man. Neither him or his team has much confidence in him, or he would have taken someone other than a light welter that has Paulie type power. Look at his last 4 opponents. None have punching power. I've said it before and will say it again - he wants to take safe fights and leapfrog the best guys in order to get a big money fight. Its not that he wants to fight the best, he wants the easiest route to the big money, without earning it. I've got zero respect for the guy. He said Mayweather will probably be scared and run from him if he dominates Algieri? Some morons will actually believe that.

LOL, Khan KO'ing somebody, lol.............................I wouldn't be surprised if he gets KO'd. All Algieri has to do is wave his fist past Amir's chin and it's over.

khan has matured enough to know that in the
end a victory is more important than a KO. he
will not seek a knockout in the first half and
even then only if he clearly dominates. would
not blame him. he clearly wants floyd and that
train is leaving the station soon ...

Outside of an old Zab Judah, or the feather fisted Paulie who has Amir stopped that's any kind of a name

Judah has been done forever

And paulie is by far the most overrated C level fighter in recent years

Amir hasn't shown any kind of power in a long time

He's afraid of any kind of punch and doesn't go for the kill

We all know that Amir has a china chin and we saw that CA took Manny's best shots and didn't go to sleep, so how could one even fathom the notion of Khan KOing Algieri when Packy wasn't even able to?

This is why if there is a KO that more than likely it will be Chris putting china chinned Khan to sleep and not the other way around, even though neither man is really a big puncher IMHO.

The triangle theory in boxing doesn't hold, Khan hits hard enough to drop the tough Maidana - who else hurt Marcos so much?

Khan brings positives to the table and many thought both Collazo and Devon would smash him - they didn't get a look in; Khan seems to have improved and strengthened, he's still a young man though been a pro 9 years - he'll have more good nights in boxing than bad.

Let's say for arguments sake he does stop Algieri, it doesn't mean much. Yes he is the better fighter than Algieri but everyone knows once he steps up and faces a puncher again it is lights out for Amir Khan. Terrific boxer, but no chin

Who did Khan KO beside chinny Judah and Malignaggi ? As it was said already, if Provo and Manny couldn't stop Algieri, then Khan will neither.

I want to see if JDJ improved Algieri. He specifically worked on power, so hopefully Khan will feel some of Algieri's punches.

Ahh if only boxing was that simple. Boxing is not Maths, you cant do this

Manny + Provo x Chris Algieri / stoppage = nil
Khan - Chris Algieri / Stoppage ( Manny + Pac = stoppage x Chris Algieri = nil ) = nil

This isnt a dig at you personally, but anything can happen in boxing, I would love if more people would put money on their predictions, even just to see them go broke.

Khan also had that "chinny" Marcos Madiana on the floor also
