Mark De Mori

Post by mosen007 »

Might look good on paper but this is such an easy fight for De Mori, will he always duck the good guys? And how is he ranked?? I'd love to see him test himself against someone decent...

De Mori is Australia's closest equivalent to the notorious Nohit Singh!

Do you recognise one name on the Bosnian guys wins list? And, 5 KOs total.

You only recognize a few names on MD resume because u are from Australia...... Apart from Leapai (his first fight mind u) do you reckon any fight fan from Bosnia would recognize MD resume?

First of all, I'm from New Zealand and live in the UK.

Secondly, this is an Australia & Pacific forum so I'm looking at the fight entirely from the Australian's point-of-view. He needs to step it up if he's going to truly be world class, and this guy is a step sideways.

De Mori couldn't even beat a novice in Leapai in his first ever fight, says it all really.

Going nowhere fast but probably happy doing it.

BoxRec shows that the great De Mori was pencilled in to grapple "TBA" at Hildesheim, Niedersachsen, Germany on the 9th May. "TBA" was very busy on that card has he had another 6 bouts lined up, so would have been a little bit tired by the time he came out for De Mori in the main event.

But a translation from a German paper said this about the night of nights, which drew a crowd of around 500:
Finally it was time. The struggle of the WBU heavyweight titlist to stand. Actually de Mori should defend that title against the Bosnians Goran Delic, but de Moris promoter Don King had turned up. As early as June to Mark de Mori step into the ring against reigning WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder. To prevent possible injuries they have short agreed to accept an eight-round fight against Radenko Kovac. In the first round it was de Mori take it easy. He dominated his opponents with few blows. In the second round put de Mori hard to stomach and head hits that should be enough to win the fight with KO in the second round of its own. In his acceptance speech he paid tribute to his opponent respect that he had accepted this fight on such short notice and thanked all his team for their support

Wow ! Mark is really testing himself now.
Dodges Goran Delic ranked 264 to fight Radenko Kovac 2-5-0 ranked 748 [stopped in his last 3 fights]
If i'm reading the translation correctly it was because Don King wants de Mori to fight DEONTAY WILDER in June
and didn't want him to risk any injuries.
The mind boggles.
What a crock of s**te

Mark De Mori's last 9 fights were boxrec rated 752, 518, 314, 402, 394, 402, 360, 503, 448. How does that get you even a shot at a shot?

He will likely look back when his career is over and regret not having stepped up to see what he could have achieved.

Then again, he might be just taking the safest possible route to a boxing income and not give a crap? That's certainly the way it appears.

I just think he dreams of being an undisputed champion, but he actually knows his limit. he lacks confidence to take the next step cause he is enjoying the journey and a crushing loss to a kevin Johnson type would end it.

I mean can u really see the top 20-30 guys avoiding mark for all these years? I doubt it very much.

but if he's happy doing what he's doing then good for him.

de Mori will never have the balls to fight someone from the top 100.
Why not give the 63rd ranked 50yr old Billy Wright a shot at his coveted WBU title.
Since his 2007 comeback Billy has a record of 15 fights for 15 wins, 14 by stoppage.

He has stopped the 163rd ranked Saul Farrah twice.
7/6/14 TKO 1
9/11/12 TKO 2
Too risky ? de Mori's career is an ongoing joke.

Just notice that Leapai has lost his last 3 fight and is ranked 3rd in Aus and Demori 4th in Aus. and Leapai still has more than double the boxrec points. 116 to 51 points. Says it all where he is at :witzend:

Saul Farah? Bloody hell. His last two fights were against chaps with 4-3 and 2-5 records and now he rolls out a 34yo, 5'10 bloke from Bolivia.

Looking at Farah's record though, and the places he has fought, for a Bolivian club fighter he must have an excellent manager.

Mark De Mori talking about how he's been with Don King since 2010 and hopes there's a "happy ending"
