12 super flyweight
Jose Salgado 34(27)-2(1)-2
vs
Srisaket Sor Rungvisai 33(30)-4(2)-1
vacant WBC Silver super flyweight title

Srisaket controlled an all-action 1st round in which he landed LOTS of power shots including lenghty straight lefts to the body, short straight lefts on the inside and his best shots, flush right hooks

Srisaket resumed where he had left at the end of the 1st stalking Salgado in the ropes and landing power shots. Salgado timed a nice right uppercut that made Srisaket slow down a little. Srisaket still landing the better blows but Salgado tried to gain respect with lots of flurries.

Although Salgado showed what he should be doing to win this fight which is stick and move to use his superior reach, he didn't stick to it. Srisaket still stalking him down and landing BIG shots. Salgado still flurrying but the effective stuff is all done by Srisaket.

Early in round 4 a too brave Salgado was trading with Srisaket who landed a BIG counter left that sent Salgado hurt in the ropes. he recuperated only to get stung again and this time Srisaket grinded till he took him out!

Bloody love me some Srisaket! I though the Thai fell short a bit in the opening round but quickly established his range and tempo. Salgado was always under too much pressure to to just box and move and I think he realised it.

Great win for Srisaket and hopefully Nakornloung will put up big money to drag Cuadras over to Thailand for the rematch.

Great win by Srisaket. This is very impressive and puts him in line for a rematch with Cuardras. IMO, he was unlucky not to get a straight rematch with Cuadras.

As Boxing Prospect said if Nakornloung can put up a sizeable amont and bring Cuadras to Thailand that would be very interesting. The win over Salgado may well give his handlers confidence to dig deep to make it happen now.

Glad to see the Thai get the victory... hope that Cuadras will not use a whole lot of movement in the rematch....
