He takes fighters from no where and gets them shots at genuine world titles, who else does that....he puts on entertaining shows full of 50/50 fights what the ppl want to see....I can go in bookies and have a home accumulator and win every time on a Hearn show....Gavin and Kel is a decent matchup but who ever pays for that other than kels family and Gavins who cant get there are mugs cause its not worth the pay per view money....
Hearn and warren have this TV game stitched up and Hennessey seems to have vanished so with Dennis making a statement I hope every one tunes in FREE and leaves the SKY pay per view alone and its good for all boxing fans to get a taste for nowt
You're right - Brook vs Gavin isn't worth the PPV money,

But when you add in 2 50/50 or 60/40 world title fights where the champion is travelling, plus 3 50/50 / 60/40 British or Commonwealth title fights and nearly 7 hours of boxing including 6 title fights plus AJ who will draw a bit of interest then it IS well worth the £16.95 IMO. I've been a big boxing fan for about 10 years now and i genuinely can't remember a better UK card than this. Can't wait for Saturday, will be missing the FA Cup final over it and compared to the Bellew-Cleverly undercard where it was a case of how many rounds (if any) Quigg, McDonnell, Groves etc lost, this is fantastic.

Thats true the show is really good, but when you take into account the shockingly poor Matchroom cards that have led up to this show (because anything decent has been saved for this one) do you not feel you've already paid the £16.95 by paying subscription fees for Sky Sports and getting a very below par product?

Paullow good look and pay it but still shouldnt be pay per view like its been stated sky are robbin bstds any way and your sky sports package should b enough there is some decent fights on it but his shows in the past have been garbage and not worth the sky fee never mind a ppv fee. Its been prospect v journeyman right through the card and the only excitement as been the odd upset.and it happens on most of them sky shows CRAP same with allegedly

Funny thing is if Eddie put on some good shows on Sky Sports he'd get a pass for putting this Saturday's stuff on PPV, problem is he's given us turds recently and is expecting fans to fork out.

Another similar problem is that he's using Joshua Vs TBA's as a main event which is then getting Joshua a lot of stick as well.

I know I'm often "anti-Eddie" but he's making a rod for his own back. If he needs Joshua Vs TBA to get interest in the card then the show's aren't worth the Sky Sports subscription. By all means do Joshua Vs TBA WITH a genuine main event level bout alongside it, but don't forget that main event level bout.

I don't think most people will watch ppv because your paying 2 sky fees and getting robbed blind. Its wrong ye it's an Ok show but his previous av been garbage and predictabl And it damages boxing.everybody on the planet paid for mayweather v pac for what a crap under card and a boring main event.not what people expected and who'd buy it again

Definitely its a joke but the casuals lap up an AJ knockover job and lets face it theyre the type Eddie loves.

Its annoying that hes billed higher than two genuine world title fights on Saturday! And then Eddie moans when people wanna see him rushed, but will openly say hes the this and hes that.

By my reckoning the boxing for May on SKY was Dirrell - Degale and Burns & McDonnell in America (plus some shite from Brum).

If that's below par, then when it has ever been at 'par'?

I said shockingly poor Matchroom cards, none of the fights you mentioned where on a Matchroom card

SKY/Matchroom, one and the same. They were Matchroom fighters, on SKY, at a reasonable hour in the UK, in competitive world-level fights...it's part of the content.

Without going too much into what our opinions of the PPV are, as that that's been discussed in other threads...

How many people will be watching this on Spike instead? Reckon there'll be a live thread going for this on the night? Or will it all be mixed into one?

Great news! Hopefully, this will lead to more free boxing on Freeview channels like Spike. :TU:

I've got Virgin also, so don't get it via cable. But Spike Tv is on freeview, so it will be built into your television.

I'm likely to watch the spike fights. Be good to support a different channel - especially if viewing figures help boxing get wider coverage

I'm officially doing this.

I'm probably cutting off my nose to spite my face, because if there wasn't boxing on Freeview, I would've ordered the PPV. However, I like small hall shows and felt like supporting the promoter putting free boxing on.

There's some decent fights on the PPV, but none I consider unmissable. So will have a tinny and tune into Spike.

Only managed to catch the ross burkinshaw fight. The set left a lot to be desired but jaime moore was cracking as usual.

So did the bellend that was presenting it.

They were trying to go with the old laddish banter angle, and it was a bit annoying.

Two decent fights there. One ended in controversy, the other a bit of an upset. And the cretins on punditry were acting like it was all a bit of a joke.

The whole chips, beer and fights angle is very loaded/fhm circa 1995.

Yeah. I agree.

Fights were good. Punditry was amongst the most amateurish I've ever seen in sporting history. (I wish that was an exaggeration.)
