Is Cook still the British champ?
Didn't Nicky Cook win the British title as well yet two other people are fighting for it on Calzage- Lacy undercard?

To be fair Joe has said alot and most of it turned out to be rubbish. Roy Jones and Hopkins ducking him, career defining fights, two-weight world champion etc. I take everything Joe says with a pinch of salt. Also if he is going to step up he should fight Kessler before hand.glahn wrote:They're probably hoping to match Dawson with Lacy, should he beat Calzaghe. Joe has already said he's moving up after the fight no matter what, hasn't he?

A bit of clarification on the WBC situation from BB:
Harding went on to add that since the postponement of the November show, the WBC have made Cook the Number one challenger for the WBC World featherweight title and stated:
If I knew then what I know now, I would not have put Nicky (Cook) up for this fight. However, we are contracted to take this fight with Voronin and to be fair, if Nicky is going to be a World Champion he needs to come through opponents such as Voronin”.
Harding went on to explain the current situation with the WBC, and stated that Cook was supposed to fight the American Robert Guerrero for a final eliminator, but subsequently Guerrero has recently been beaten he and may now have to fight Guerrero's victor, Gamaliel Diaz of Mexico in a final eliminator, or as the number one challenger fight the Victor of WBC interim champion Humberto Soto of Mexico and WBC featherweight champion Injin Chi of Korea who are due to fight in April, with the winner fighting Diaz or Cook within 90 days which could leave Cook a possible World title showdown in the summer of 2006

I think Chi will stop Soto and if a Gamaliel Diaz V Nicky Cook Elimainater is faught I would favour Cook .
I think Cook is a world class fighter , however if he faught Chi I doubt he could keep the Korean brawler away from him and despite having the better skills he would be forced to exchange blows where Chi would definatly hold the upper hand . So if Cook manages to get a fight against Injin Chi I would predict Chi by stoppage .
