The obvious time to make the fight was instead of the Maidana fight but they couldn't make it happen. I feel like they'll go with Garcia next and I think Garcia will jump at the fight now.
I concur.
So do I.

After last nights display there is absolutely no reason why Khan should ever get the Mayweather fight. Id even go as far to say that Mayweather gets his first proper stoppage since Hatton in 2007 (IM not counting the Ortiz fight in that). If Algeri can hit him clean with right hands time and time again rhen i can only imagine what floyd would do

Amir was not much the bigger guy in there & looked uncomfortable early on; when put under pressure the holes in the technique resurfaced (chin left hanging during/after combos, openness to left hooks, skitttering-away-like-Bambi-on-rollerskates when under pressure, along with some new ones like being caught repeatedly by right hands over the top of the jab) & he seemed genuinely surprised by Algieri's speed & ability to get to him. The legs also did funny things at times (end of the first when he walked into a right hand & at the end of the fourth from the same).

Close, enjoyable fight imo. Would tune in if they do it again (they won't).

I no longer fancy Amir to annoy Mayweather, FWIW, & Algieri is a bloody good value surprise package.

PS: Telling quote from my missus after watching two rounds: "Are you seriously telling me Khan was the one who won an Olympic medal, & this other fella used to be a kickboxer?!?"
